Hi all, I am 35 years old. Mother of 2 very busy boys.... and I am preop in my WLS journey.  I have had my 1st dr appt, and next week I will have my psych eval.  I am eager to begin my life of losing as I have been contemplating surgery for about five years.  I have finally decided on RNY and am scared and excited to embark on a healthier me!

Sounds like we should start a moms of boys club.  Welcome to the group.  I am three weeks post op and doing okay. Today has been rough but overall I al doing okay.

How old are your boys?  Mine are 5 and 7 and my 5 year old, thankkfully, put himself to bed an hour and a half ago.  My other son is having a slumber party with grandma.  So I am free tonight, as long as I don't leave the house!

Best of luck on your journey.  We are all here for you.  Keep us posted.

Hi & welcome to the group.  Congrats on making the decision to take control of your weight and to have WLS.  I am 6 weeks out myself and for the most part I feel good.  Just getting back to work.  So after 5 weeks off from work, my body is having to readjust to the surgery and re-building my stamina.

I am 34, no kids.  Well that is unless you count my 2 year old kitty and my 3 month old ****erspaniel.  LOL..  My main reason for having WLS is so I can get the weight off to get pregnant and to have a healthy pregnancy.  So in a couple of years maybe we can be sharing baby stories.. :)

Hi!  Congrats to you on your amazing start on the losing side!  How was work been since you went back?

With your amazing weight loss pregnancy will come before you know it,... It took me a LONG! time to have my two... and many losses and heartbreak... Stay positive and eventually you will be chasing around babies too.  (just not too soon).

ty.  Work has been ok.  Only worked 32 hours this past week.  I was so pooped after my 1st weekend back, i doubt I could have worked another shift.  I couldnt even exercise at all.  Slept and slept and SLEPT!

On the baby front:  I pick up my depo shot when I get off from work and then go to MD on monday (when I get off from work) for the nurse to give.  I hope that there is no babies for atleast 2 years post-op.  I want to be at optimum health and at GOAL.  Not to say that if it happened sooner that I wouldnt be ecstatic, but I would worry too much I think.

Hope that you are having a great weekend.

Welcome to the group.  My kids have 4 feet and cold noses (yup dogs).  Love them, they drive me crazy at times, but could not go on without my fur babies.  I am 48, married and have a young adult stepson.

I had RNY about 17 months ago, loving the weight loss and still working to lose more.  And it is work at this point.  I am living life to the fullest I can, putting myself first as often as possible.

Do what you can to adjust to the new habits that will be your life after surgery.  Make one change at a time and then another.  Easier to adjust than to change everything at once.  Come share often with us, we are here in your corner for support.  Come to monday evening chat sessions when you can.  I send out a reminder on monday mornings.  I try to be there as much as possible, except when leading our local wls support group.  Find support everywhere you can.  Hugs

Thanks Kathy!
I too have the 4 legged children... in fact I have 5!  Tryinig to find home for the ones that came unexpected from one of my rescues...   I am trying to start with little changes- not sure when I will actually have an OR date but I know my Dr will NOT do the surgery if I gain one ounce... So slowly but surely I am trying a new life without too much guidance... as I haven't seen the nutritionist as of yet.   I will try to be there on Mondays~ especially if I get a reminder.. :o)
