first hurdle

Today I received a call from the hospital telling me that the anesthesiologist compared my EKG to one I had a few years ago and would like me to get cardiac clearance for the surgery. Now I have to get in to see a cardiologist asap or my surgery will be postponed. Better safe than sorry but feeling very frustrated. The only other time I had to see a cardiologist was due to a questionable EKG. Had to have a stress test, an Echo and a Cardiac Cath and all were fine. Just don't want to go through all of that again.

better to go thru all that now and find nothing wrong, than to go through the surgery only to have a MAJOR complication.  I wish you the best.

I so agree with the others. Better to have it done now and not find anything rather than to go through surgery with complications. I saw a cardiologist right before I started the process not knowing I would have to have one done and since it was within a month or 2  they went ahead and just used that visit as for cardiac clearance since everything was normal and my heart is very healthy :)

I wish you the best in having these test done quickly so you don't have to postpone surgery!

Count my in line with the others.  Hoping that all went well and your surgery is going to happen as planned.  The hurdles seem frustrating, but they are needed for the safest procedure.  Hugs

Saw the cardiologist today and received clearance for surgery!! He said he compared my EKG to the last one I had and it was identical. I also weighed in there and have lost 15 pounds, so today was a great day. I came home and celebrated by exercising !!
