Thursday Morning Chaos!
I didn't sleep well last night at all. I tossed and turned and before I knew it, it was 6am and the alarm clock was going off! I got my son up for school and once he left to get on the bus I simply just layed back down and went back to sleep only to wake up to a cold house! We had ran out of propane in the tank!!!!! Not to mention I was running late for bible study this morning - I had enough time to get ready, drink a cup of coffee and walk out the door. We called the gas people and they sent someone right out but my mom ended up having to stay here with them so they could relight the pilot lights and make sure the air was out of the gas lines so.....I TOTALLY MISSED breakfast! The most important meal of the day... It happens alot , if not breakfast, then I miss lunch or either I am just not hungry at all and I KNOW I am not suppose to skip meals.
Ya can't make up for it cuz if you do you end up over eating or eating things you shouldn't..
** ugh **
Bible Study lasts from 10am-12pm on Thurs. We only have one more session I believe ( We are doing Jonah - A Life Interrupted by Priscilla Shirer, which has blessed me so much the past few weeks.. ) Anyhoot, I have got off track - which I tend to do alot. I went to the grocery store afterwards to start buying things to stock for after my surgery such as broths,jello's,popsicles,etc..." I have already started weening myself from whole milk, which I LOVE, down to 1% fat free - not a big difference between whole and 2% but 1% just tastes like watered down milk lol gonna take some getting use to, for sure!
I bought some of the whey protein "strawberrry","Cocolate" Flavor a couple of weeks ago and I really like the strawberry - not to fond of the chocolate flavor though! I will try vanilla next! The hard thing is trying to keep my 14 year old son from making him a shake!!! ** maybe I will give him the chocolate haha**
What are your favorite flavors of Whey Protein? And do you add anything to them to make them taste better or to spruce them up, change them up a bit ? Would really like other options to try to see if I like it before surgery and hopefully will still like after surgery, I know they say your taste could change.

So sorry you had a rough night followed by a rough morning. Glad the heat is back on for you.
I like strawberry, mixed berry and vanilla protein. I like to use greek yogurt, frozen in ice trays, and a scoop of protein, some frozen fruit and a touch of milk for making a yummy high protein smoothie.
Also vanilla protein in orange crystal light is yummy too. especially with lots of ice. Reminds me of an orange creansicle or orange julious.
Hope this helps a bit!

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
The greek yogurt frozen into cubes does 2 things. Takes the place of ice cubes, so your smoothie isn'****ered down tasting..and provides an extra kick of protein and other nutrients.
Suggestion...Get a notebook, and start writing down all the info you get here that you think you may want to use, that way it is easy to find when you need it.

I flavored my shakes with a little sugar free coffee syrup, crystal light powder. There are a multitude of options for flavors between the coffee syrup (sugar free, of course) and the crystal light.
Congrats on getting lower fat milk. I had the opposite problem, love skim and surgeon's office wanted me to use 2% for my protein shakes during the pre op time for a little fat in my diet. Glad I could go back to skim after surgery.
I like to mix the protein powder with milk and a package of sugar free carnation instant breakfast (cib). Interesting combo of strawberry cib and chocolate protein powder. Again, more options. I mix a few ice cubes into the blender when I make a shake, makes it a little thicker, more like a malt. Just don't blend too much after surgery, makes the shakes larger due to the incorporated air.
