So, I have met with my surgeon. She is very confident in me. The only thing is that I may not be able to have the RNY because my bowels may not be in such good shape. But if not Dr. Dayhim will petition my insurance company for me to have the sleeve (which is not covered by my insurance).

I had a bowel barium swallow on Monday. Then I am waiting for the appt to have another endoscope and colonoscopy. I think that they called me today but I was in Aqua Aerobics. lol

I am hoping that I can still have the RNY! I feel better knowing the stats on that and not go into a surgery that is sooo new!

Hi, I have a RNY, but I've heard really good thing about the sleeve.   Either has their good side and potential for problems.   Mag

I know that they both have their pros and cons but for me there isnt just enough data on the sleeve. I dont want to work my butt off and fail with it in the long run.

I had a BPD which was is the surgery that the DS was derived from. I had IBS and yet since the surgery last April I don't have any problems. No diareah, or constipation, no ugly smell, nor smelly gas. The IBS calmed down completely.

Good luck and hope your surgery is soon!
