Darn scale.. trying to freak me out

scale today says i gained 6 pounds.. LOL.. Believe me my first impression was WTF. However, I know that there is no way that I gained that much. My only explanation is that I just went back to work and due to working overnight shift, I ate most/all of my meals from 5pm and later. ate the same thing that I normally eat as well. Didnt change anything up. Had good amounts of protein as well. Might have been a little low on the fluids the weekend though. Now yesterday I did get sick with dinner (which was my first meal ) and threw up. SO I guess my cal, protein was low yesterday. I also did eat x2 chocolate covered strawberries and x3-4 bites of lemon pie. Also havent exercised since thur since it was my first day at work on friday.

So today I am gonna be back on plan. Got milk so now I can drink my shake with 26g protein in it. I am planning on working out on the WiiFit and going to the gym to try and do 30min on the recumbent bike.

I am proud that I am not letting the scale get me down. Will weigh again on friday to see where I am at. I normally weigh just once a week, but NUT suggested weighing more than once... so we shall see

Good job not letting that demon scale get you down and getting back on plan!

My family has a wii.  Do you really like the wii fit?  I've been thinking about buying it but didn't want to spend the money unless I knew I liked it. lol

ty..  it is hard to be positive when I have had ore years of being so negative.. but I am DOING it.  I have been drinking all my liquids today..  Gotten all my protein from food instead of drinking a shake.  1st time ever.  70+g of protein  WooooHooooo.

Hi Fran, I like your attitude. Keep looking up. I'm sure it's hard on a body to go back to work and be a late shift at that.      Mag

thank you.  I am tryihng to stay positive.  it is hard though.  But I know that it is impossible to really gain weight like this when I am eating less than 1000 calories a day.. LOL

Hope that you are doing well and feeling better

the scale was much kinder today.  Went down on the losing end again.  YEAH!  Will not weigh again until Sat.

Drank alot of fluids yesterday and ate SF popsicles. Ended up losing count for a total, but I know it was atleast 64oz.

for anyone who is going thru the scale doing the same thing, I promise if you keep moving forward and doing what you are suppose to do, the scale will follow your example.

thank you all for ur support.

Ok lady... 2 things here. First... you are newl;y back to work and on your feet much more than at home....AND....still recovering from major surgery! It was likely fluid retention, don't ever panic when it goes up that fast, because it is humanly impossible to gain 6 lbs of fat or actual body weight overnight. :o) Glad the scale saw it your way again the next day.

Please try to avouid those sweets... they are the enemy. They can cause you to dump, which can include nausea, vomitting, sudden and urgent diarrhea with cramps, light headedness, hot flashes...feeling like you might be dying..lol. Very hard on you, especially this early out. (and they are bad for us..lol).

Hugs to you. Glad you did so well the following day! When we don't get enough fluids in and are on our feet alot, the water weight gain can be awful! When I did this post-op I referred to it as being in "swell hell" lol
