Hello, everyone!

My name is Stacy and I had RNY about three weeks ago.

I am a nurse and I work in a transplant center in Milwaukee.  I have two boys, ages 5 and 7, and I am divorced.  I also help care for my parents who are getting older and need some help.  As you can imagine, I am quite busy.  I have six weeks off work after surgery and I am enjoying the time.  I am looking forward to being part of this group.  I need all the support I can get!

Hi Stacy, Welcome. We all need support and that's why we are here. You do have a lot on your plate. I hope you had help after you arrived home. Would love to be friends. I.m 32days  post-op. We are not that far apart on our surgery dates. I'll send a friend request.  Mag

Hi Stacy,

Congrats on your surgery! :0)

You work in a transplant center? Awesome!  I have been on dialysis 11 years this July.  I'm pre-op and waiting for my surgery.  Most likely in May or June.  I can't wait to  have surgery and start losing weight so I can be put on the kidney transplant list.  :0)  I live in Boring, OR near Portland.  I'm divorced but engaged to an incredible man!   We have set a date for August.  I have 3 boys(20,18, 15) and a girl (10).  Enjoy your time off.

Welcome to the group and I hope to see you on the board!

Hi Stacy, Welcome to the group! My name is Teresa and I am currently waiting for a surgery date ( within the next month ) I am going to have the RNY as well. I am so looking forward to having it done!

I have 2 boys ( 19 and 14) and I too, am divorced! I also have Hep C which has caused liver damage and I will know after the surgery just how much damage has occured ( my doctor will do a liver biopsy while he is doing the RNY). I found out back in 2007 and treatments didn't work. Was told that eventually I will have to have a liver transplant. But hopefully that will be wayyyy on down the road!

I look forward to getting to know you and we are all here for you!

Welcome to the family Stacy.   I too am a nurse, working night shift in the OB unit.  Gotta love helping bring little ones into the world.  I get a moment here and there to snuggle a newborn.  I have been a nurse for 20 plus years.  I am married and my hubby and I share responsibility for our 2 small (although they think they are LARGE) dogs.

I am thrilled that I had my RNY in 2009, seems like just last month.  Best thing I did for my health.  I enjoy all my friends here at bariatric buddy, my day to day support.  Looking forward to getting to know you better.  Let's each put ourselves at the top of our priority list.

Let us know what we can do for your support.  Here to share the journey.  Hugs

Hello Stacy, welcome to the group.  I am having my RNY on 3/2/11.  Just started the liquid diet that is required two weeks before the surgery.  I am a retired Physician Assistant.  I am married to my best friend and we have 4 children between us.  And we have 10 grandchildren.

Hi Stacy. Welcome to our group. We have lots of meduical people here in our group. I too am a nurse, but not an RN unfortunately. Was going to go back for that, but am pretty sure I decided on elementary educator instead.. I have until April to toss it around before picking classes for the summer term.
