Time off

I tried to go back to work today, since I only work three days a week 4 1/2 hours a day I thought two weeks off would be enough.  I was WRONG!  I am not ready to spend that much time on my feet.  I only made it about an hour before I felt so weak and light headed I just had to go home, and ask for another week off.  How much time off have some of you had to take before you were ready to go back to work?  Thanks for any advice!

Take the time you need Donna.  Your body is still going through changes.  I felt good, tired very easy at 3 weeks out from surgery.  My work required that I have no lifting limits when I returned.  Took the whole 6 weeks off, and I was glad I did.

Listen to your body!  I took 2 weeks off before I went full-time (worked about 8 hours the week before that, 2.5-3.5 hrs in the office twice, and a little from home).  I have a desk job, though... I think I would have needed an extra week if I had to be on my feet at work.  It was a solid 3 weeks before I felt 100% back to "normal", with my full energy, not napping, and not falling asleep at 8pm.

most people need 3 to 6 weeks, and part of that depends on how exerting your job is. PLEASE listen to your body... we want you happy, healthy, and fully recovered!
