Bariatric Buddy
Hi all
Hi all. My name is Lammy, at least the name I go by. I am pre-op RNY waiting on a date. I am a big dude 6'5" and 429 as of this morning which is better than the 460 I was but no as good as the 219 I will be. I was thin at one point. Even in the military for the first Gulf war as an MP. Slowly over time and through many speed bumps called life, I gained. I have gotten to a place where I need to be more of a man by being less of a man. I am doing this for me. Me alone. Not that others won't benefit from more room on the seat next to me, but this is the biggest decision for myself I have made in decades. I have finished all my pre testing and just have to get all the paperwork to the surgeon and start health care approvals. I hope by march to have the surgery. This is a great forum with great people and I look forward to learning and sharing as I go through this life reboot.
Welcome to the group Lammy. We have a few men who post from time to time. Mark participates in monday chat sessions when he can. Do try to attend the evenins chat sessions when you can. I send our the chat reminder on mondays.
Congrats on making a decision for your health. We know about eating our own speed bumps in life. I had my RNY in sept 2009, best thing I did for myself. The surgery is on our stomachs, the hard part, the mind work, is up to us. Having a smaller pouch is a great start in not being able to eat the speed bumps. lol
I hope to learn more about you as we share posts here on the site. Loser's unite. Let us know how things are going for you.

Thank you for the welcome. I completely understand that all I am doing with surgery is giving myself a new tool in the fight of food in mouth disease. But with my current state of mind over a year of therapy and a flick in the ear by fate, I am reved up and ready to go... Each day is a gift and I want more presents.
Hi and welcome to thegroup, but also welcome to this journey we all are traveling, just at different stops in the road. I am beginning my 6th week post-op. I feel great, minus the tiredness from my first 32h weekend back to work.
Love your positive attitude,. Glad yuo are revved up and ready to go. If you have any questions, just drop them on the thread or bring them to monday night chats.

Sorry for the late welcome lammy... but it is meant as heartfully as an ontime one! lol. I am super busy being back in college, so don't get to get on here as much as I once did, but do my best to make it a couple of times a week anyhow!
Congrats on beginning your journey to better health and lots of presents! (love that!) I hope the flick in the ear wasn't toooooooo awful serious, but it sounds like it was a definate wake up. Best of luck in a speedy approval process. Many have to do a 6 month pre-op supervised weight loss plan, did you have to do this?
Best of luck, and I look forward to traveling this journey with you.
