Can I ask -- how much weight did u lose your first month?

i was told that typical results are 25 percent of your body fat in month one which is under 40 lbs for me. i was just curious how much weight others lost in the first month, and or how much they lost by not cheating on the liquid diet. 2 weeks really is a long time though! esp considering a year is only 52 of them

I lost 18 pounds on 2 week pre-op liquid diet.  I lost another 24 pounds one month out.  Starting weight was 360.

Not telling you to do this or anything, but this is what I did.  I had a horrible time with the liquid diet as well.  Especially since it was around the holidays.  So I had about 3 days the first week that I did all liquids except one meal which was nothing but some protein.  the 2nd week I was stricter and i think I had 1 day where i did the same.  My surgeon said my surgery went awesome and he had no problems with my liver.

The 2 weeks will fly by.  Try to find things to keep you busy.  Do some early spring cleaning.

Each and every one of us loses differently.  Do not try to compare yourself to anyone else Sara.  Those who start out at higher weights do tend to lose more during the pre op diet and during the first few weeks, due to a higher bmi to start with.  You have done amazing getting ready for surgery and losing to make the surgery easier.

I anticipate great things in your future Sara.  Hugs

Sara, my daughter lost 68 lbs her first month (she started at 410 tho) I started at 270, and lost (I think it was) 24 lbs my first month. As kathy says, it varies so much depending on how overweight, but also just from person to person. And as the surgery loss slows, it is up to us to stay on track to continue the loss we want or need. Typically surgery helps with losing about 70% of excess weight, but if we apply ourselves, we can get to a normal BMI or close usually. Then there are some who never hit goal, even tho they try very hard. But I think some of our bodies just decide where they are happy and try to lock us in there, but we still have to work and be "good" about our lifestyle, so we do not regain later.

You are doing great and I HAVE no DOUBT YOU WILL CONTINUE TO!
