Stall already :(

Well almost 4 weeks post op and I am stuck, I have lost 1 lb in that past 2 weeks :(  I am not terribly upset since my clothes are very loose. I need to go out an buy a belt. I have lost a total of 19 lbs since 1/17/11, I go Mall walking 5 out of 7 days of the week, I have been walking 5-6 miles a day. I am following my meal plan to a T.  I am assuming my body is just adjusting and soon the pounds will drop again at least I hope so.

I return to work this coming Tuesday. I had a routine while at home it will be interesting how I will be able to get my protein, water and meals in while at work not to mention the exercise. My kids are  involved in many activities so after work I run around with them in the late afternoons and early evening. While I have been out of work I have been able to get all my exercise in during the day. We will have to come up with a plan so that I can do what I need to do.

First... don't let the stall get you down. I was 11 days out when i got my first stall and my weight wouldn't budge for over a week and a half. It will resume! One thing to think about is are you getting in all meals, water, protein and vitamins? If not this can slow things down. Try to add one extra protein shake a day and see if that budges it.
It takes a bit to get things situated after returning to work. Just be sure to make it one of your priorities, and don't let work knock you off track and keep you there. It takes a bit, but you can and will find balance if you try to work at it.

Hugs to you! Keep up the good work!

I have  been getting all the protein and vitamins I just finally am able to get in the 60 oz of water I feel like I am about to float and I am so full after drinking so much water that I don't want to eat or do the shakes but I do. Still haven't budged. I go to the doctor next Monday will have to ask what its all about. I am sure the pounds will start to fall when they are good and ready I just wish they would hurry up a bit even if its only a pound a week.

It will and when it finally does start to move again, it will probably move quickly again for a while.. don't get too bummed, my loss went this way too, but in the end here I am at a normal BMI! I know it is hard not to get frustrated, but it will happen again.. your body is adjusting to so much! It has to catch up with all the changes it is encountering.

Week 3 the scale would not budge for me.. think it took a total of 10-11 days before I dropped 1 pound.  It is our body trying to adjust to the changes that we are making.  What I did notice is that at week 3 I had begun to be able to eat more and was getting ni more calories (500-700).  Where as the weeks prior, I was lucky to be getting in 300-400.

Sounds like you are on the right track.

Thanks Fran,

If my system is like yours then I should be losing weight again next week. Good to know that this is normal in week 3.

You are so normal that it is scarey.  We all go through times of losing and stalls.  Do your best to get in the protein, fluids, exercise and supplements.  Do know that you wil be more tired after working and pace work and exercise.  Here to hold your hand and support you as you venture back into normal life.  Hugs

Thanks Kathy,

Its good to know that I am normal, lol. I am not terribly depressed about this, its just a little discouraging. I am sure it will pass, I have been reading some of the forums and week 3 seems to be slow for alot of people. Hoping next week will be better.

Yeah, your body is probably just adjusting.  So happy for you and your loose clothing.  That's a great feeling.  Here's to your success!
