Hey yall!

My name is Teresa and I am 38, divorced with 2 sons. My oldest is 19 and my youngest is 14. We live in Milledgeville, GA!

I am about a month away from having the Gastric Bypass done and I am so excited
! I am waiting to have the filter put in, should be about a week and then my surgeon is goin on vacation so he said we will schedule the surgery for sometime in March. I have been piddling around OH for a little while now trying to get familiar with everything.

I really am looking forward to getting to know yall and making new friends.

Thank you so much for the nice welcome and the friend request! Patrece you are my 1st friend
~ woohoo~

It has been a journey just to get to this part of the process~ wow~ all the things you have to go through, the seminar, the group meetings, evaluations, procedures etc... I seems like it took forever but here I am - almost a month from having it done and I believe this is going to be the best thing I have ever done. I have alot of health issues that I honestly thought would keep me from having the gastric bypass done but my Dr. is awesome !!!

Glad to be your first friend! Yes this is a heck of a process, but it is only the beginning. It is a lifelong comittment to many new ways of living for us. The health issues are probably part of what helped you in your approval, many of the health issues we suffer pre-op are brought on by our excess weight.  I am thrilled for you! The time between now and surgery will fly by! Learn all you can to help make the transition as easy as possible. Ask any questions you may have. Also, watch on Monday for Kathy to post a reminder for the chat. We have a group chat every Monday evening.

Hi Teresa!

Welcome... I'm new too (2/8/11).

My name is Jen. I'm 34, divorced also but have a wonderful MAN in my life now and we have set a wedding date for this August. I have 3 sons (20, 18, 15) and a daughter (10).  They are my biological children... the ages are not a typo. lol  I'm also a grandma (my oldest son) to a wonderful 7 month old baby girl!  I live in Boring, OR... yes, Boring, OR. lol

I don't have a surgery date yet but it will be somewhere in May or June.

It's a pleasure meeting you!

Thanks Jen! It's a pleasure to meet you as well!  Wow - I know that you have your hands full!  My 19 year old is in  Job Corps working on his GED and learning a trade. He is going to try to get into the Coast Guard when he graduates. I miss him but also am very proud of him for taking this step in his life to better himself and I am NOT looking to be a grandma any time soon LOL My 14 year old is in 8th Grade and at that stage/phase where he thinks he is "Google" haha... I can't have any more kids but one day I do look forward to being a grandma! :)

I have been divorced 2x and so I have heard 3rd time is a charm **we shall see** I do have a special someone in my life but it's long distance which is really hard but we are making it work  and see each other when we can!

I will know more about when exactly they will put the filter in on Monday or Tues when they call to let me know! So I will def keep yall posted as things progress!

It's so nice to have a place where you can come and are not judged or degraded and can just talk with people who know what you have gone through and or going through it at the same time!

Welcome Teresa.  I see that your surgery is just a few short weeks away.  I am thrilled that I decided to have my surgery.  It does take a while to get used to the ins and outs of the OH site.

I look forward to getting to know you better.  There is chat each monday evening here on the bariatric buddy page.  This is a great way to get others and ask questions.  Caring and sharing time each monday.  I sent out a reminder notice with a short cut to chat each monday.  Let's lose together.  Hugs

Thanks Kathy!  I will not be here for this one on Monday Night - We have Revival at my church starting tomorrow night and going through Fri Night!  But I should be here for the next one :)  I am very much involved with my church. I teach Sunday School to 4 and 5 year olds, I am in Women on Missions, A Member of the Chior, I am also on the Kitchen crew to help with social events and fellowship get togethers.

But count me in for the next Monday Night Chat :)
