Some days I've just got to wonder!?!?!
Remember the motto for these times in your life. Make taking care of Patrece a priority. Here to listen when you need to talk, a shoulder to cry on and a long distance hug sender. Can't wait till we get to see each other again.
Being pulled in multiple directions is hard. Just look at the pulling I get to come in to work more than I am scheduled. Hard to say "NO" and take time for oneself. But I did it, said no, twice in the last 23 hours, said yes twice too, lol. Rest of the day is mine. Getting my valentines card ready for Dennis.
ps, he cleans up pretty good when he finds the shaver, lol.

HA HAAAAAAAAA.... LOVE the PS! Gotcha!
Ya know it seems like when i hit points where I most need to take care of me, thats when everyone else needs "extra care" from me as well. Which leaves less time and energy for me. But some of it is unavoidable, like helping with getting my grandson diagnosed and treated some day soon, I hope! (have to help Candice with watching the kids she babysits for on Tuesday, so she can take Braxten to Denver for some diagnostics. This is something I want to do to enable my grandson to find relief and get over this bowel issue he has had since 2 months old. he's now 7 months and it keeps getting worse. At least they are finally taking it more seriousluy.
I can't wait to get to see each other again either! Miss you lots!
Glad you at least managed a no 2 of 4 times. I think you practically single handedly cover all the needed shifts!
BTW Math stinks! hahaha

I worked just over 1 hour and will get paid for working 4 since I got called in on my day off. All overtime too, uncle sam will be sure to collect his share first, hahaha.
I got my bouquet of snapdragons this afternoon from Dennis. They are lovely, my fav. He loves me!!

Hi Patrece,
I started school four weeks ago as well. Masters in Professional Counseling...so far so good. I currently work for a small Community College and see people who make the wrong career choice all the time and then feel they spent their time and money for something that they don't want now and decide to change their careers half way through a program.
The only thing I can say is to think about what you enjoy to do and wither you would be a nurse or a teacher for free. Because it has to be something that even if you didn't get paid for it, you would still enjoy doing it. Going to work everyday needs to be something that gives you happiness to get up and go to work for. So if you can think of something you would love to do regardless of if you get paid or not, that is your career choice and strive for it, because the greatest reward is to be getting paid for something you truly love!!!!
As for me being on this site, well, I had gastric bypass (RNY) June 2010, and so far have had a very smooth transition, except for the past month. I'm starting to feel hunger again and am hungry all the time, but of course only eat little bits. The first six months I lost 112 pounds. I never felt hungry unless I was thirsty then I would drink my water and was all good. But since about the beginning of January I started to feel hunger again and I'm hungry all the time. I hated that feeling before the surgery and I'm starting to panic because I don't want to gain weight again. I've been up and down 5 pounds for the past 6 weeks and I'm really scared.
I've upped my excercise the last two weeks, but I'm still stuck at the same weight.
So any suggestions and or advice, support, modivation is greatly appreciated.

Irma,
Thank you so much for your words of wisdom. The answe to that is working with the children. Thank you for helping me gain some insight. You are one smart cookie!
Ok So surgery was 8 months ago. A few things for me to share here (my insight) then a few questions for you to consider. When I hit 7 to 8 months out, I began to hit plateaus for 4 to 8 weeks at a time, then would lose 3 to 5 lbs, then stall again. It slows alot as time goes on. There are things we can do to make sure we are still losing at the quickest rate possible, but know it will be much slower for most people after this time period. Also remember we all lose differently. Some hit goal in 10 months. It took me almost 2 years! BUT I hit goal. and the great part is i am maintaining! Now a few things to consider that may help spur the losing to start back up and help curb your hunger.
1. Are you getting in at LEAST 64 oz of clean fluids each day? Clean means no caffienne or sugar / carbs.
2. Are you getting at least 60 grams of protein? (when exercising may need to be closer to 80 per day. IF protein is defincient, weight loss slows or stops).
3. how much do you eat each sitting? at 8 months out you should be getting close to 3/4 Cup (9 months should be at 3/4 c one cup at a year out, and between 1 to 1.5 cuops for life, 1.5 cups with less dense foods, at most.) If you are not eating enough, this too will slow or stall weight loss.
4. How many meals per day? should have at L:EAST 3 with the first being within 30 minutes of waking. This revs metabolism for the day, but try to avoid carby stuff except fruits, as they will trigger hunger and cravings for the whole day! Also make you tired and sluggish, and even moody So any am carbs, try to make them only from fruit or veggie sources. (no breads, grains, oats, etc) Often when i suggest this, peple find it helps ALOT! Also if you eat only 3 meals per day, add a snack or 2 to the mix, but focus on lean protein sources, fruits and veggies, and limit it to about 1/2 cup. I often eat 1/3 c cottage cheese and a handful of grapes for a snack.
5. Are you beginning to graze? (pick at food on and off all day?) if so try to stop and go to the 3 meal 2 snack plan. Be sure too for meals 1/2 of the meal is a protein source and take 2 bites of protein to one bite of whatever else. protein keeps us full longer and we need it. If you do not get enough protein, use a supplement for one of your snacks.
6. Look back at how you ate (food types) earlier post op) and determine how far off plan you may have strayed.. we ALL do, and usually far more than we realize, until we look back or re-read our instructions. Be sure you are keeping carbs in check, and carbs you do eat come from natural sources (fruit / veggies) and whole grains. avoid white breads, white rice white noodles, sugar etc. use whole grain versions of all of this. (except sugar of course)
So.. i think this is ALOT of info to get you started with. Let me know if it helps! Best of luck and hang in there!
