Some days I've just got to wonder!?!?!

Think I am just having a blah day or two here. But I am having one of those days where i truly have to ask myself what I was thinking, trying to go back to school. It seems now that I am back in school everyone needs more than ever of and from me, and it makes finding my balance tough. Thankfully I am only going part time now.. but what happens when i am in full time?

Then I had the brilliant idea that I didn't want to go for my RN after all, that I'd rather go for elementary educator. Now i am wondering if that was the right choice. Problem is the course of study for the two are very different, so I have to have a firm decision in place by the end of this semester, as i don't want to take classes that won't apply to what I am doing. I really think i want to do the elementary educator, but guess i am a bit intimidated by all the math i have to take. Math is not my strongest point by any means.

Then there is that part of me that asks why am I going to schooll at all? Isn't my life complicated enough? lol... oh boy! Just a bad day or two I guess. Thanks for letting me vent. Hope all is well with everyone.

I think we all have a blah day here and there! I am a stay at home mom and have been since 2006 when I was diagnosed with Hep C and went on treatments and all that stuff.. was a rough couple of years where balancing daily life just took so much from me. Last year I started making cakes for people - which started out as just a " hobby " because I honestly didn't have a clue what I was doing - making buttercream and fondant -I often thought - what am I doing ??  I thought about going to school to learn how to do all of that and then one day said - I can teach myself and still be home LOL So that is what I did. I taught myself how to decorate cakes and now have my own small business ** Cakes by Dawn** I have a blog http://dawnsgoodies.blogspot.com/

** Dawn is actually my middle name and I go by that most of the time so yall can either call me Dawn or Teresa, either is fine :) **

When I was younger I wanted to be a teacher - but I ended up working in the Nursing Field....I would follow your heart -do what is going to make you happy and do what is going to be a satisfaction at the end of the day :)

I am actually an LPN now.. but haven't worked doing it since my hubby's accident. But I just dunno... really feel I have done my time in nursing and it is time for something new and I do so enjoy little ones. Thats why my interest is in elementary education, rather than middle or high school.

How kewl you taught yourself to do the cake decorating! Do you keep busy with it? How bad a temptation are those sweet treats to you? I loved sweet frosting before my surgery. Now i can't hardly stand it..I got too used to eating healthier.

I don't think I could teach middle or high school now a days anyway !! I do love the littles ones myself though and I teach 4 and 5 year old Sunday School at my church!

I have been pretty steady making cakes but lately I haven't had any orders and I really am taking a break from it til after surgery! It's not really tempting after you make a few a week you tend to not want any of it haha... I have been getting my mom and my son to taste the buttercream when I make it to see if it taste right because I know that after I have surgery it will make me sick to taste it. ( my weakness is really oreo cookies and milk however I haven't bought any oreo's in a long time.. if I don't buy them I can't eat um )

Very good tactics! I know when I buy snacks for hubby, most of what he likes I do not, but when he wants something I do like and may be tempted by, I get him the smallest available portion and if he doesn't fini**** I make sure it is just out of my sight. I am pretty good about that tho. I am to the point, where when I want a snack or sweets, I want fruit. Which is a really nice thing.
Just say NO to oreos! lol

Great plan, Dennis loves oreos too, and is fine with not having them in the house.  I do see empty convience size packs in his car.  Tis alright, nothing left but an empty wrapper by that time.
