Hello... New to the Group & Pre-Op for Gastric Bypass!

(deactivated member)
on 2/10/11 2:15 pm - Boring, OR

My name is Jeniffer. I'm 34 and pre-op for Gastric Bypass. I'm engaged, I have 3 boys & 1 girl, and live in Clackamas County Oregon.

I have looked over the message board and read some posts.  I'm hoping to become an active/daily member of the group.  I will offer support as best I can.  I look forward to making new friends here and having a shoulder to lean on when needed.

Thanks & take care!

Jen

Welcome to the group Jen.  Always looking for active posts.  Some days the page is quieter than others.  I had my RNY about 16 months ago, so glad that I made the decision and followed through.  Sounds like you have many reasons to be a healthy as possible.  Let's continue to share posts with others.  Loser's unite for support of each other.  Today's priority is oneself.  Hugs

Welcome to the group, Jeniffer! This is really a great group.  I have found a lot of love and support here and I'm sure you will too.  Please feel free to ask questions or write about your journey.  Sometimes I get on here and just ramble about my day.

I'm glad you found us!

Hi Jen,  Welcome! Glad to have you w/ us. I am really encouraged daily by the people I meet here. Lots of good info from the long-term swl loss friends. (also so stories that people post for their need of support and to help understand problems faced by others. I do try to visit every day. It has helped me sooooo much.  Mag

My home away from home.  WELCOME.  Congrats on ur upcoming surgery.   I too am 34 and when I started feeling like I was 50 (not ****ing any 50 year olds), I decided I had to do something.  My body hurt everywhere, I had little stamina, and my body was sorta going thru menopause of sorts (PCOS), which isnt good since I want a family.  So, I decided on WLS for my health and for my future.

I am now 5 weeks out.  I feel great.  Stamina comes and goes, but thats normal.  SO when my energy is up, I take advantage of it and when it is down, I listen to my body and rest.  Just went back to work yesterday and felt like a mack truck ran me over.  But still felt much better at work and was able to do things without being short of breath or hurting as bad.

The people here are wonderful.  Post and you will get a reply.  It can get quiet in here a little, because everyone is living their lives as well.  I check in daily.  Dont necesarrily post everyday.  I do read the new posts and try to respond.
