OT- In the throes of a relapse
If anyone has wondered where I've gone, well the truth is I've been fighting off an MS relapse for several days. It started off mildly and I wasn't sure but now I can no longer deny it. In case you are wondering what an MS relapse is like, let me briefly describe it. My right elbow hurts like the dickens and my right arm is useless. My legs feel like they weigh 1 ton each. I can hardly see the screen as I write this due to optic neuritis.
I called a new neurologist yesterday and I'm afraid I'll have to schedule a cortisone IV drip. That one scares me more than anything else, because I recently broke the 90-kilo barrier and I don't want to gain again. I'm half tempted to wait it out, but things can get a lot worse and drag on for a long time if I do. Well, I guess I had an 1 year grace period symptoms-free. It was good while it lasted *sigh*

Amalia,
I'm so sorry to hear that you are in relapse and a understand why you would be hesitant about that cortisone shot. Talk to your doctor about this. He may be able to give you something to boost your metabolism while you are going through treatment.
I will keep you in my prayers for a speedy return to remission.

Yes Amalia, I have been missing your posts. So sorry that the MS is rearing its ugly head at this time. Do not let things go overly long, you know the risks. I know the side effects of steroids, but they are a necessity for you from time to time. You made it through the last bout with some effort. I anticipate that you will get through this episode too. Know that I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs from this side of the ocean to yours. Take care during this time.
