tell me I am normal PLEASE
Donna, some people have nausea after surgery. Have you called your surgeon's office to report the nausea? There are things that can help. Are you getting up and moving around? The activity will help get things moving around and help any trapped gas to escape. Moving is the last thing we feel like doing after surgery, but what we need the most. I hope that the nausea resolves quickly and you start to feel more human. Keep us up to date on what you learn from your MD. Hugs

I really can't add much to what Kathy said. I just wanted you to know that you are in my prayers and that you are not alone. I felt great the day of surgery, I walked the route they had set up on the ward 10 times which was 8 more than they asked for. I felt terrific. The following day, I was sick as a dog; I was so nauseated I could hardly stand it. It will get better, I promise. Just hang in there!

Thank you so much for the replies> I did call Dr's office yesterday and was told to give it another day and they would call in a script for me. Woke up this morning feeling a little better. Not nearly as tired tired which is a good thing I was getting sore spending so much time in bed. Going to move and stay awake as much as I can today, so far just having some major gurgling but very little nausea. Baby step in the right direction.

Hey Donna, welcome to our group. I hope your relief stays with you. If the nausea returns, try to see if you can relate it to anything, like when you drink, or when you drink water, etc. Often we try to drink too much too fast and this can make us feel awful! It could also be some nausea from the anesthesia you were under...hard to tell. If you do have more, try a sugar free popsicle. You can't drink it too quickly, yet it helps hydrate, ALSO an old trick I learned long ago... if you are nauseated, suck on a pickle. Do not eat it but suck on it. The juice helps calm nausea for most people.
Congrats on your arrival to the losers bench!
PS...you are VERY NORMAL! :0)
