2 weeks post op!
Today I am 2 weeks post op and I weighed my self this morning. I am down another 4 lbs. YAY!! for a total of 17 lbs since surgery to 219 lbs. What a great feeling. Not sure if I will continue to lose at this pace but I would love to lose another 4 lbs this week. I am not on a fast track. I do not want to lose weight so fast that my skin starts to sag. I will be happy as long as it just keeps coming off.
Can't wait until the doctor allows me to start working out in another 4 weeks. I have been walking the mall for about an hour to an hour and a half everyday. But I think this week will be challenged due to appts I have and a huge snow storm on Wednesday. I have to say I am so looking forward for spring to arrive. Would love to walk around the neighborhood. None of my neighbors know that I had this surgery. It will be interesting to see their reaction by the time they see me without a coat on.
The puree diet is much better than the liquid diet (can not do the protein shakes, I was drinking slim fast, yuk) but its very limited. Had some haddock the other day it was very good. I chopped up the chicken pretty good but even with mayo it was kinda dry, ate some tuna fish but not very fond of that either as I am not a fan of sea food. Been eating cottage cheese alot since it has the highest portion of protein. Had to start eating some sf apple sauce for the fiber and some carrots as well. I bought some of the unjury products the chicken soup is very good and the protein shakes are not bad at all and is very filling.
Does anybody have any puree recipes that is tasty with lots of protein.? I am thinking I will try some oatmeal today, kinda afraid of trying it but I really need a change and it is part of my meal plan and l need the fiber.
Well have to wake up the kids so that they can get ready for school.

Flavor the plain greek yogurt with crystal light powder, sugarfree jello powder, sugarfree coffee syrup, a small spoon of sugarfree jelly. You will come up with wonderful flavors. The preflavored greek yogurt has added sugars in the sweeteners. In moderation, the preflavored has a place. I had several sugarfree popsicles each day, still do.
I add generic benefiber to my crystal light, does not affect the look or flavor. Mixes in instantly, love it. Keeps me regular too. lol
With your hot cereal, add a little powdered milk to the water when you prepare the cereal for added protein. Hope this helps, best of luck, you are doing wonderful. Hugs
