It has been 9 Months out and 74 -78 lbs down. I had the challenge of my life to handle the Illness of my husband that recently took his life on Jan. 18th 2011, my sweet husband Ed battle with cancer for the last 2 1/2 yrs ended, I am a stress eater so feel I have handled this farely well due the situations we delt with for the last few yrs. My Edward is now resting in peace with our heavenly Lord above and with no pain. I now need to get back on track, I haven't gained wt since my surgery but have had many stand still periods which I am ok with but..... my diet has been not to where it should, I found I can eat just about anything without any side effects but in smaller portions so I need to get back on track now and focus on keeping myself healthy. I plan to get on board more to get back on track, thanks all who support each other this has helped me thru out my battle of stress and illness I shared with my hubby, I pray for my courage to get back on track and heal my broken . Patrece I would like to thank you also for all your support you gave in the past it helped me tread water thru the tough times, keep up the great work in school also!! I do get on and read posts but rarely get on so is time i get started to get back on track need support.... to keep away from sweets that my body does allow me to have but thank God not much to gain wt. but need to keep healthy for myself now. God Bless all.

I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers Cathy.  May you have all the support you need.  It is hard to lose a loved one.  Take time for your health needs.  You have done well to maintain during these stressful times.  To refrain from feeding your stress is a great success.  Do share your secret if you know what it is.    Mega hugs coming you way.

I am so sorry for your loss.  Take time to listen to what your body needs.  If its a good cry, then cry.  If its a nap, then take a nap.  If it's some comfort food, then give it some.  Avoiding it all together may lead to a binge.  Now is the tmie to take care of YOU!

((((((CATHY))))))) Tears filled my eyes as I read your post. While I know there is a certain amount of relief in that the suffering for Ed has ended, I also know that a new chapter of grief and suffering has begun for you. I pray and hope for strength and peace for you and your children. Remember I am always here for you...always! Please call me or PM me with your phone number so I can call you. I moved my office and can't find a thing, including your phone number.

Take care of you now. It is your time to be cared for. I have to say I agree strongly with Fran on the subject of allowing yourself SOME comfort food if it is what you have to have to help you through right now, rather than trying to deny yourself and binging or just going completely off track. But I also want to add that as time and pain passes, try to identify new things to bring you comfort and pleasure.  Do you have any time you can take away from work? Again, please call me, or PM me your number so I can call you.

I love you tons, and my heart is so with you in your time of loss.
Great big Colorado hugs coming at you! I wish I could hug you face to face and be there to help you through this.

Thank you all so much!  I am doing ok actually I can't wait to get back to work to keep my mind busy, I'm at home another 2-3 weeks, I had foot surgery on 12-23 not expecting Ed to take a turn for worse end of Dec (this time off is 6-8 wk) due to go back to work early to mid Feb. I'm so greatful to of had off work even with my surgery it is giving more time to actually get caught up on all that fell behind due to hubby's illness.  I thank you again Patrece and others for your support.  I slacked for few wks and was  getting worse and of course got a cold due to not taking care of my body, I can't stress how much better I feel with taking my vitamins and drinking my water again and I do think when we take our vitamins it seems to tell my body I don't need bad or overload of foods because now I'm not craving odd junk foods and don't feel hungry again.  Thanks again, God Bless will stay in touch.  Cathy
