Bariatric Buddy
A vent about surgery and a question
Your absolutely right, it becomes habit to say that because everyone says that to us. I had a guy say to me just the other day, "Yeah, I lost 120 pounds to but I did it myself." And I just smiled and nodded but I was ready to explode. I'm thinking, last time I checked there was no one but me doing it for myself either. Another lady said to me, "Oh I lost weight but I did it the hard way with diet and exercise." I looked at her like, "Did you really just say that?" I eat 900 calories a day and i workout 5 days a week. How long was her recovery, how long did it take for her INCISIONS to heal? People just dont think before they speak. I look at it this way, this tool changes your habits, your thinking and when used right, aids you for life. I can only hope they can keep their weight off two years from now. I wouldnt wish obesity on anyone, but the ****y atitudes I can live without. You are doing everything right and I dont think you will be dissappointed when it actually happens. You may have even greater success because you are already in the zone. I am so excited for you!! Keep ignoring the comments and dont let anyone get you down!! :)
thanks again for your words of hope. :) my big downfall is that when i get upset i just want to throw my hands up in the air. i think its so much different and amazing to watch yourself change. i used to get upset and eat and the reason i am not eating is not completely related to not having much food in the house but a change in heart and mind. i journal now. i am in the process of doing that right now. i just have a lot on my plate and i have a bad habit of wishing i lived someone elses life. one person can take only so much bulcrap.
well going to journal. i just don't know. i am super duper excited about the surgery and found out how qualified the place i am going to is. had a homework assignement that i picked cleveland clinic bariatric and its our final project for this one class. i have learned so much that i am in peace about them and the surgery itself but now i have to finish preparing myself mentally. any ideas would be greatly appreciaited :)
