CPaP and stuffy nose?

I have had a stuffy nose and I am supposed to use my CPaP every night. I have the nose pillow mask that goes into your nostrils. I haven't been able to wear it when I sleep or anything. Will that go against my review?

Hi Jeanine, I have the nasal pillow cpap too.  On those nights when I feel stuffy, I try to put it on anyway and relax.  The stuffiness usually eases and I am able to sleep.

Contact your MD to see if there is something medically wrong, ie why your nose is stuffy, do you need a decongestant, allergies??????  Could be a reason for your symptoms.  Check with your cpap provider, maybe a different style of mask would work better.  Best of luck with your symptoms.  I don't know what I would do without my cpap.  It makes such a difference in my life.

Try to use a nasal decongestant a couple of hours before bed, and see if that helps clear things up for you so you can use the cpap. I doubt it will go against you in the review, but using the cpap is important to your health and energy levels as well, without it, you are being deprived of much needed oxygen.

Best of luck lady! Ohhh also try some saline nose spray about an hour or so before trying to use the cpap and be sure to use the humidifier on the cpap

 Hey Jeanine!

I have a CPap too.  I have the same mask.  When I am congested I try putting Vicks into the tube so I breathe it while the air pumps through the mask.  If that doesn't work I just don't use it.  The instructions on the manual for my mask say not to use the mask if I'm congested period.  But I'm congested a lot, hence the Vicks.  I'm not sure what you mean by review, but for my insurance it was enough to know that I had the diagnosis of sleep apnea and that I sleep with a mask.
