Can anybody explain to me how to make a picture small enough to fit in for my avatar?  I've tried a bunch of times but it keeps telling me that the picture is too big.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem. It took me forever. I had to keep cropping and then email to myself. When you email it to yourself it gives you an option to make it less pixels. I did that several times before I got the right size. I am sure there has to be a better way but I don't know what it is.

Good Luck!!

I use Irfan View http://www.irfanview.com/. It can resize your photos to any size you need.

There are several free online sites that will resize your pic to make it an avatar. Search free resize. Make the pic 100 by 100 pixels or less and you will be in business. Bestest of luck. Hugs

www.photobucket.com is a site you can upload pics to, resize then post with a little url they give you. Or you can save it to your computer from there also, and upload it. Worse comes to worse, send it to me, I'll resize it for you then send it to you to post.

Thanks for all your help, ladies!  I finally managed it with photobucket; I completely forgot  had an account set up with them.  I just bought myself a compact camcorder to play with and will upload some stuff when I learn how to use it properly.

I just use regular Microsoft Paint and use the "Strech" option to shrink the pic.
