Surgery Tomorrow Afternoon

Tomorrow afternoon at 2:15 is my big day! Started all liquid diet today and tomorrow nothing at all goes in my mouth not even water :( Not happy about not being able to drink water tomorrow. I feel that its going to be a very long morning. I hope the doctor stays on schedule.

I was a bit sad last night that I was leaving the life I have always known behind, gone will be the days I can grab a cookie and think nothing of it. No more prime ribs (not that I ate that on a regular basis, mostly new years eve meal). As of tomorrow I will be held accountable for everything that goes in my mouth as I am sure if I am not careful I will get sick or very uncomfortable. I Certainly do not want that.

I just hope the surgery goes well and that there are no complications. That is my main concern. I am ready today for tomorrow, just nervous of course. Like everybody in this group I want to be a success story. My goal is to lose 111 lbs in one year. I want to be able to wear shorts this summer without feeling self conscious. My nephew is getting married in August 2011 in Ottawa, Canada, and I so want to surprise everybody with my weight loss. We camp allot in the summer and this year I want to be able to do stuff with my teenage kids and have the energy to do it. We plan on buying bikes for the whole family in the spring. I hope I can keep motivated. It sounds great in theory but then life gets in the way. I am counting on all you to help me along the way.

Cross your fingers that all goes well tomorrow and wish me luck. !!

My thoughts and prayers will be with you tomorrow.  I know that all will go well and it is the start of a new life for you.  Yes it does mean some changes such as not grabbing that cookie but it also means some wonderful changes such as being able to do all those things you would like to be able to do.  We are here to support you in any way that we can.  As for that prime rib, by next New Year's Eve you will be able to eat it just not as much of it as you are used to eating.  Let us know as soon as you can how you are doing after surgery.  We look forward to welcoming you to the Loser's Bench!!!

Good news! Jeanine took the words right out of my mouth! You WILL be able to have prime rib again, just in much smaller helpings. I remember before my WLS I was thinking, I'll never enjoy food again! I am going to have to survive on rabbit food and chicken!  Well thats not the case. Early out things are limited alot, but as time goes on you can have many of the old favorites, but maybe in a modified version. AND who EVER thought rabbit food could be so tasty and prepared soooo creatively! I love it! When you hit maintenance phase, you can gradually add in other things too, just in stricty moderation.

Yep you are saying goodbye to life as you now know it, and welcoming in a much much better life and future! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!  When the old life got us to where we are pre-op and made us so miserable in so many ways, there's not much to miss! You will see. Just embrace this journey and all of its ups and downs and you will be thrilled!

I am sending prayers, thoughts and vibes for you to have a smooth as silk surgery and recovery and journey! Can't wait to welcome you to the losers bench lady! Go in with only positive thoughts, as the mind is a powerful tool! What an awesome way to begin the New Year...with a New you and New lease on a healthy life!

You will be fine.  You may even find that things you think you can't live without end up being things that don't taste good anymore.  My biggest fear was pizza.  I have a slice once in a great while but it doesn't always taste that great.

Good luck tomorrow and we will save you a spot on the loser's bench!

I am glad it will not be the last of prime rib, well it will be until next new years eve. Who knows by then I may not even like it.

I will try to keep everyone posted. Maybe tomorrow I will try to figure out how to make entries from my droid. If  not it will be when I get home.

I am ready for my new life!!
