What do you eat for lunch?
I personally like to keep lunches simple. Fast prep basically. I often have cottage cheese and some fruit, or a salad with hard boiled egg and some chicken in it for protein, sliced veggies of choice, with a couple of slices of a lean turkey or chicken or beef deli meat and some cottage cheese is another easy one I like to do. something easy and quick like that, but still containing the protein my body needs. As for snacks, try to keep it to veggies and fruits so that it isn't packed with bad carbs, and isn't too high in calories. Beef jerky is a decent choice too for a protein snack, just keep it in moderation. Maybe some yogurt, sufar free popsicles, or protein shakes too. Remember too that taking in alot of carbs during the day will fatigue you and make you feel more edgy.
Any chance of changing departments or jobs if the stress is just too much for you? Or possibly talking to your doc about something to help with anxiety and or depression if you have that going on.
Wishing you the best of luck in getting through this and NOT turning to food for comfort. It fixes nothing... and will just make you feel worse in the end. Try to remember that when you are tempted to eat when you know you are not really hungry.
Instead of turning to comfort food try to create a quick "comfort mood". Take just 1 to 3 minutes, clear your mind, take several deep cleansing breaths, you can even use mood music if you are able to. It can be suprising how taking just this short time can be very beneficial and get you through this urge to seek comfort.

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
Awesome ideas and exactly what I am looking for. I think you are right, and I have been contemplating beginning my anti-depressants again. I ususally only need them for 4 - 6 months and it seems to get me through rough patches. I really am depressed and the job does have almost everything to do with it. I dont want food to be my crutch, I have seen what it does to my life and I AM NOT GOING BACK! Thanks again, so appreciated!! :)
remember.. you are your own worst enemy or your own best advocate! Only you can decide which you will be to yourself.. I know you will choose advocate, because if you were not wanting to look out for your own well being, you would have never had this surgery.
I strongly encourage you to get back on the anti-depressants. I use them every single day, and if I ever do miss several of them, I don't even want to be around myself. Remember too, when depression is looming over us, it makes everything else feel that much worse. I have suffered depression since my early teens, probably even younger, so I am all too familiar with ts effects. Luckily, I have also learned to tell when a "bout" is coming on, and I can usually derail it pretty well. Not always, but usually.
Work on creating and putting into place a quick Comfort mood activity / setting/ whatever it is that will work for you, to help get you through the really hard times at work. You maybe thinking "I don't have time" but it takes no more time than the comfort food..and is much healthier, doesn't put on weight, and you aren't even more upset because you turned to food.
Good for you in not going back! Let us know whenever we can be of support to you!

I think patrece gave awsome advice.. :) I do the yogurts, SF puddings, broccli, cottage cheese n fruit, which is my fav..and if you need something crunchy, as patrece said raw vegs.. are good and take some cheese cubes.. I love babybell cheese.. but if not that some chedder is good too.. I also like to take deli turky, ham and sliced cheese and roll up with a lettuce leave and thats a fullfilling lunch for me ... I love the suggestion of taking a few mins to yourself as patrece suggested.. hope you find something that works for you and hope the depression gets better..
