I do coffee shakes.. more often than anything... but I think there is a recipie post on OH.. as for me.. I use vanilla powder, instant coffee, and skim milk and shake it in my cup blender I got from GNC..which leave lil air as compared to the bullet or other electonric gadgets..plus it saves on using electric and take anywhere..which I do .. I quickly make my shake..and have to run..it goes with me.. I drink my coffee shake in less than hour now.. with ice..and thinking of adding some sugar free whipped topping..lol... and you can also do sugar free hot choc mix, with skim milk and powder.. its tolerable..

I do know of some with yogurt, fruit, splenda, and powder..but to get a nice smooth texture.. alot of yogurt for me.. so buy 1 qt size..and use from there..

Good luck.. and dont be afraid to invent and try some different things...then let us know ..haha..

Question..

I tried my chocolate shake with milk and lets just say that my stomach was not in agreement.

Is this something that will pass?

P.S.

The coffee shake sounds GREAT! I am going to have to try that one.

try a small amount of milk alone, and if it does not agree with you, its the milk.. I am sure you read that alot of us after surgery can not tolerate milk.. are you doing skim milk or fat free? and try rice milk ot soy.. or almond milk.. I am not sure if this is just temporary for you.. sip small amounts..just enough to lay on your tongue.. see if it helps..

the coffee is yum.. and as patrece suggested go to the website she mentioned..and there is one called inyoureggface.com.. I may have it wrong.. dont quote me..lol but there is ALOT of yummy recipies on there too..

good luck!

I also like orange crystal light with vailla protein powder over ice... tastes alot like an orange creamsicle.. yummyyyy.

A suggestion when making smoothies... Take a good quality greek yogurt (higher in protein by far) either vanilla or unflavored, and freeze in ice trays, then pop out and put in a baggie. Then when you want a smoothie, it doesn't get all watered down tasting from the water in the ice. You can also add different flavors of crystal light to get whatever taste you are in the mood for, or add fruit...or both!

I'm on the HMR diet pre-op, but I've been making the chocolate shakes with raspberry ice crystal light, and with the pomegranate crystal light.  I bet it would be as good with regular chocolate protein powder... at least I hope so, that's my plan post-op!
