Soooo... How did your holiday food choices go for you?

Sounds like you did well.
Needing help you say? Do we need a group challenge? I could use some motivation too. When I start at the community college Jan 17th, they offer a fitness center, and every student pays a fee for its use, if they use it or not. Plan to check it out and make use of it if it is not always overcrowded. Then there's the good ole Wii, which I love, but never seem to take the time to use..
I must restructure my time a bit and organize my schedule once I have my class schedule, so I can fit in everything I need to without struggling to do it.
Studies and assignments will take a lot of time i am sure, but I have to continue to take care of myself in this journey.. no one else will do it for me.

It sounds like you did better than I did although all things considered, I didn't do too bad. I made a Honeysuckle White turkey breast with stuffing which has always been one of my favorite foods (stuffing).  I could not eat it; I tried a few small bites and became nauseated.  So I had 1/2 home-made biscuit with turkey and gravy.  I confess; I also had a small piece of banana cream pie, made with sugar free pudding.

Christmas Eve at my cousin's house was a lot better, I had 3 bites of mosticcolli with meat sauce and one bite of Italian sausage.  I thought I was going to vomit afterwards. I stayed away from all the candies, cookies, munchies etc.

I guess overall I didn't do too badly considering it was Christmas.  Now all I have to do is get through New Year's Eve with our traditional munchies and I'll be all set.

Not too shabby lady! Glad your body helps hold you accountable... Mine does too, and i am thankful for that gift!

Now, as far as new Years Eve...any way you may be able to begin to incorperate some new traditions, and squeeze out a few of the old ones? It is amazing how enjoyable some creative healthier foods can be! allrecipes.com has more recipes than one can imagine. You can search by types of food, low carb, low fat, healthy, etc. Just be sure to look at the nutritional info when selecting recipes, and remember most any recipe can be tweeked to be healthier.

keep up the good work.

Eating wise, I did pretty good, I put teaspoon or tblsp size servings on my small plate.. had ham, potatoes n gravey- yes I put small amount of gravey and loved it..lol.. then I had sweet potatoes, but no pastas or sweets. I even had some corn.. everything went down fine and tasted very good. I noticed too lately I have not been much for eating.. I am on solids now and thought I would be more into eating as I need to on schedule, but no interest or if I do, I take a bite and I want nothing more.. I been drinking protein shakes to keep up on protein, but I think it may be the change my body is going through and the holidays.. who knows.. also the pain I been in..with the many numerous ailments I have , weight loss had no effect on minimizing the pain.. but.. pushing through :)

As you lose more, the pain may reduce... its hard to know for sure how your body will respond. As far as the no interest in food, this is a fairly normal occurance for wls patients, especially in the first few months. Then once the appetite returns, it scares the heck out of you..lol. Just schedule meals and get in at least that one ounce serving. It is best to take 20 minutes to eat ameal, so take your time at eating it...just eat. Not eating can actually slow the weight loss because your body will go into starvation mode, thinking it will not be fed and refusing to let go of its fuel (fat).

It will get easier. Hang in there and just take really good care of you!
Hugs!
