NSV - HAVE to share

Well... I don't have too many NSV's being stuck at home most of the time (due to MS), but I had one yesterday! We've been invited to my SIL's for X-mas dinner and I had nothing to wear - I could take off the jeans I bought early this fall without unbuttoning them. It was time to shop! So when brother said he wanted to go shopping for clothes (he has lost 26 kg WITHOUT surgery!), I jumped at the chance. Off we went to our local plus-size store (which fortunately, as it turns out, also has regular sizes) to shop. To make a long story short, I ended up buying jeans in size 52 - down from size 64 - and 2 blouses size Large - down from XXL.

It was the jeans that freaked me out! I have not been size 52 since I was 70 kg! (and that's still waaay off for me!) It shows that my suspicion was correct. My body is changing shape. For the first tim in my life, I'm losing faster waist-down than I'm losing waist-up. Also, although I have not lost much at all on the scale lately, my body is getting smaller.

It felt good to tell the saleslady "This is too big, bring me a smaller size". I haven't had too many such experiences in my life and I had to do it TWICE yesterday, once for the pants and once for the shirts! I confess, I did buy the pants a little tight so that they will last for a little while, but they do fit. I was awe struck as I looked at them when I got home and they looked TINY! Certainly not like pants that would fit ME!

Good for you! Doesn't it feel good to know that you are reaching your goals! I know that when I can buy something smaller than I did the last time I shopped it gives me a reason to keep trying. Keep up the good work and bask in the warm feelings of success!

Yes, it does feel good to see that some progress is being made, because the scale hasn't been very encouraging this past month. I should be used to these "plaeaus", it's my third one since the surgery, but they still upset me, regardless.

Amalia,

Isn't it wonderful, having to get smaller sizes than you thought?  Not sure about the transaltion of the pant size but two sizes down in shirts is awesome!

By the way, what does NSV stand for?

Hi Coleen :)

NSV- Non Scale Victory

Size 52 in women's pants here is approximately Size 16 or 18 US.

Yes, is IS wonderful to be smaller than I thought, especially since I'm so stuck on the scale!

wooooooooooo hoooooooooooo... Great job Lady! You are doing awesome! I am so happy for you and proud of you. I remember my first time shopping on the "regular size" side of the store... felt like everyone was looking at me thinking, "you belong over there..." LOL

Thanks Patrece. Actually, I didn't go look for clothes myself, the saleslady brought them to me, but it felt GREAT to ask for SMALLER!
