I'm 10 weeks out and have averaged 2.7 pound weight loss per week.  I know we shouldn't compare ourselves to others, BUT....I can't help to feel that my weight loss is slower than most.  What do you think?

Hi Bridget!
If you remember I was the day after you. According to your ticker, you're doing great! Better than me! LOL! I'm down 40 lbs since surgery. I feel the same way losing slow! but you know what, we're losing!!! and that is more than I can say for before the surgery right! Hang in there, you're doing great!

I agree you are doing great. One thing to keep in mind is that the rate of loss differs significantly with the amount of excess weight each person carries. My daughter lost 68 lbs her first month! I lost 24 (I believe) my first month. She had significantly more to lose than I did. Judging by your pre-op weight, you don't have as much as many do to lose, so you will naturally lose slower. BUT you are losing at a wonderful steady and healthy rate, and you will continue to lose. And remember, it's not how fast we take it off...it's that we keep it off! I see many here who have reached goal weight in 9 or 12 months. It took me 2 years! But I reached it and am at a normal BMI and am not having any problems health wise. Hang in there.. you are an individual and will lose at your own pace, but remember it willl happen. Just follow the rules and do your best.

Hugs of reassurance coming your way!

You are doing great! Everyone is different, it is still early yet.  Keep in mind that you will also see changes other than weight. Don't forget about the other victories like pant's that are too loose and inches lost.  Best of luck!

I agree with Patrece. I had 228 pounds of excess weight when i started my journey and while I haven't had surgery yet I was told that the approx weiht loss for month 1 - 25 percent of excess body weight and month 4 was 40 percent i think the nut told me. only because i asked. Maybe that will help you?? but you are doing great :)
