Good Thursday evening to all

I thought I would just check in and babble for a little bit.  I haven't been on the computer much because I broke my glasses a few months back and then lost the pieces so I couldn't get them replaced under the warranty I paid for.  Anyway, I'm now wearing a pair of glasses that are from two prescriptions ago and I'm having a hard time seeing the monitor.

I ate a slice of pizza today.  I had some chili earlier in the day (aboput 1/4 cup) and then ended up getting sick and had a "sliming" episode.  My MIL had a mild stroke and is in the hospital and we went to the cafeteria while we were there and I was REALLY bad and ate most of a small donut which was really REALLY BAD.  I have been having some stomach problems and carbs seem to be the only thing that settle my stomach.  The slice of pizza took me 3 hours to eat but my stomach felt a lot better than it did after the chili.  The donut didn't bother me physically but I did feel guilty afterwards.  I've made arrangements for some one-on-one supervision after the first of the year and I think that will really help with some of my lingering bad habits.  On the upside, I'm finally getting my fluids in on most days.  I still can't eat more than about 1/2 of food before I'm full.

I also want to say "Hello and welcome!" to all our new group members.  I love this group.  This is the only group I have ever belonged to online where there isn't any bickering and nastiness going on.  Everyone is terrific here and I'm glad you found us.

I did do something "good" for myself today, or at least tried to.  I decided after 4 or 5 years of not having them to try and get into a pair of contact lenses again.  The technician dialated my eyes and the drops irritated my corneas to the point that he was hesitant to fit me for the lenses today.  He gave me some drops to help and keep my eyes lubricated and heal the irritation and I go back next week for another exam, this time without the drops.  If I'm still having a problem then it's back to glasses and a new savings account to have Lasik done.  I just feel like glasses are the old me and I want to take care of the new me.

As far as I know hubby is still planning on getting me squared away with the plastic surgery.  I don't think I can get it all done at once but it would be nice if I could finish up in two sessions.  I pretty much need everything done.  My biggest concern right now is the breast implants.  I had originally decided on the saline, but then discovered that the silicone has a far more natural feel to them.  I also have the added issue of being considered "at risk" for breast cancer because my mom had it.  I need to get in and get a mammogram done; my last one is two years old.  But I wonder how the implants hold up against the kind of pressure applied during the test?  I was also looking at some before and after pics on a plastic surgeon's website and truthfully, I did not like the look.  I want round and full and the women in the pics all looked kind of "pointy."  I'm guessing that it has to do with where the implant is placed, either in front or behind the muscles.  This has been a bigger decision than the bypass and certainly more things to think about.  A lady from a Yahoo group that I belong to had her sweat glands and hair follicles removed when they did her upper arms.  No more shaving and no more sweating and no more deodorant.  Sounds like a good thing to me and definitely want that if my surgeon (whoever that may be) will do it.

Beyond all that life is good.  Only a few small things to get and I'm done Christmas shopping and my decorations are up, and we went and bought all the stuff I need for baking this year.  I'm not looking forward to that and it's going to take every ounce of will power I have to keep my fingers out of the frosting, bowl, and bags of chips, etc.  Boy do I wish I was someone who "dumped."

Well my hubby's computer died so he's waiting for me to finish up here.  I hope you all have a great weekend!

Hey lady. Nice to hear from you. So you had a messed up day.. now and then I think we all do. So starting in the next moment, you have the power to turn it around!

The silicone is far better than saline, as saile can spring a leak too easily. As far as the pointiness, it does have to do with how they are placed in there. While many Plastic Surgeons recomment placement under the muscle so they stay put, it really isn't the best way usually. When under the muscle, as your breasts begin to naturally fall a bit after a few years, the implants do not fall with them, resulting in a lump where the breast used to be, and the breast hanging below it. As far as Mamograms, I believe they do ultrasound instead of the smash routine. I WILL not let them do the squishy way. I paid too much to restore them..lol.

Good luck with the contacts. Its great to do nice things for yourself!

Maybe have someone else assist or take over on the baking if you feel it will be to much temptation??? You have to put your wls journey in first place, so you can enjoy the success for a lifetime!
Hugs and love to you!

Hey Colleen!  That thing of having your sweat glands removed sounds kind of weird to me.  Don't you need to sweat to filter out the bad stuff from and cool your body?  It sounds nice to not have to worry about being stinky but just seems odd is all.

I'm glad you are doing well.  The holidays are here so temptations are everywhere.  I think in the midst of that a small donut is just a small setback.  You'll be fine.  You're very capable and strong.

Good to hear from you Colleen. Sorry to hear about the glasses. An accident like that would kill me, since I am blind without mine. I can't give advice on plastics since I never had one (and probably never will, no matter how much I "sag").
I've been bad about posting here for a while too, life (and health issues for me) does take over sometimes.
Take care of yourself

Hi Colleen,
We learn our lessons when our bad days, but the good thing is we have control to turn it around as patrece said. watch the carbs .. hope you can find something to ease your stomach other than the no no carbs.
Bummer to hear about your glasses.. I wear glasses too, I also wore contacts, but due to dry eyes and allergies I stopped wearing the contacts.. I stopped wearing my glasses too alot.. I cant see far away..and I need a new script, ones I have do nothing for me, so Im winging it til I get to eye dr.. I know.. baddddd ... but I am not driving right now cept local few blocks and hoping to have my new glasses by feb.. the ones I want cost $400.. and insurance is not covering them..lol.. Anyhoo
I hope I can get the plastics done after I lose my weight.. I would love to have my breasts re done. I would be scared to do silicone, isnt there problems with them? I was reading on the dangers of the silicone in the body.. but I am sure its not all the information so far.. Im a worry wart..lol.. and I do too question the sweat gland removal.. hair removal..ok.. but sweat gland.. I do believe those are needed to help rid our bodies of impurities? Im no dr.. but dont want you doing something you will regrett or have problems with.. just research more before making that decision.. :)

Be stronge about the temptations of the bad foods.. can you eat pepper slices? they are good to have for munchies and healthy..or jerky?
