Been a long time since I visited - need support/suggestions
Hi everyone. I check in once in awhile but have not posted in quite awhile. I am 7 months plus since my RNY on 4/26/2010. I have been doing pretty good and feeling great. My problem is the weight loss stopped almost 2 months ago. My personal goal was to lose another 20 - 25 lbs. Being back at work full time, not so nice weather and dark so the pooch and I don't get out walking much anymore and I am taking a Medical Coding class. Not much time to exercise but I am going to do my best to get on that treadmill and use the weight machine my hubby agreed to buying for me before the surgery. I am also going to start incorporating another protein shake everyday. I tried making hot chocolate with my chocolate flavored protein powder and also have a chai tea mix recipe. So wish me well with those efforts and please give me any suggestions to help me along. Thanks everyone and God Bless!!
Hey there lady! Don't worry.. the loss has stopped, but you will find you will still lose some now and then, but more, if you can get i moving again. Mine almost stopped at 8 months out, I would go a couple or 3 months sometimes without losing then lose 3 or 4 lbs. This surgery is effective for helping us lose typically about 70% of our excess body weight. You are there and maybe beyond. Now it will take a lot of effort and mindful eating to continue to goal. It took me until about 2 years and 3 moinths out to actually hit my goal. Be patient withyourself. You are close and the less we weigh the slower and harder it comes off. I do encourage you to double check your portions you should be eating about 1/2 cup per meal right now. Be sure you are getting in lots of protein, if not loss will stall or slow... and try hard to get in more activity. Even if it is just 5 or 10 minutes each day more...it all adds up. If you only eat 3 meals a day, try adding in another, protein based snack or meal, but keep it lean. Watch your portions get the water in too. Also get enough sleep as lack of sleep makes it harder to lose or keep off weight.
Best of luck lady! Let us know how it goes for you.
