14 Days Out

I'm starting to feel weird because I see everyone else weighing themselves almost every day.  I have a scale, but I haven't replaced its batteries yet because I feel I would torment myself if I did.  I know that I would feel bad on days the scale shows a gain, and since my body is healing there would definitely be days like that.  I had hubby measure me last week and I lost a few inches on the body.  I haven't done that yet today though I will probably get to it at some point.

I started out feeling really icky, but I have to say I feel a lot better today.  I feel more positive, and bright and cheery.  I blame the emotional roller coaster on the fact that I have had my period for about a week now, which I'm not used to anymore (have been on depo provera for three years).

So I have no weight loss in pounds to report, or any measurements to report yet.. but I feel good.  My stomach feels a lot better than it used to though I still feel pain if I try to do any force of any kind.  All of the incisions have closed up and the only one that seems to be taking longer and still itches is the one they did at the belly button.  Also that bandage hasn't fallen off yet.

Oh, and my clothes feel loser.  I have a few tshirts I've been wearing that were really right pre op and feel comfortable right now.  I have a pair of pants that is practically falling off me, but I don't want to buy anything yet so I'm still wearing them.

I suppose I'll have more statistics to report once I go to the Dr. appointment on the 22nd.

You may be doing yourself a big favor by NOT replacing those batteries just yet... there is plenty of time to torment yourself later..lol I KNOW for a fact you have lost weight... it wuill just a suprise as to how much..  You are also smart to not replace cothing unbtil you have no choice, then keep em cheap and few, as they won't be on you long. Get em a bit snug when you do, so they'll fit you for a few weeks or so :)

The pain will subside, it takles 6 weeks to fully heal, and even then you can still tire easily. be patient with your body, as it has gone through soooo very much, and don't stress the incisions yet by straining, they are still weak and you don't want to injure anything and have to get it fixed!

Here is a link to an article in our group blog I think you should take the time to read...it will help you make sense of the emotions you are experiencing. There are also many other very informative articles there. Some I wrote, some I did not, but all offer good info. Here's the link..

That was informative, thank you!  It did ease my mind a bit, because when I think about it...  I kind of do feel like I'm going through puberty again... complete with the spats with mom and pimples and overemotional self.  lol  *hugs*

You are welcome! Hang in there it will get better soon. If not, you can always request the assistance of an antidepressant to help you through this time. many need to do this, some just due to food seperation anxiety. Its like they lost a best friend. No sham in reaching out and asking for what we need.

Hugs to you. Let me know if you need a venting place. I am here for you.

i know its kind of taboo but i have one idea for you, well 2. Garage Sales (depending on where you live) and thrift stores. My aunt works at a thrift store and i get my "skinny" clothes there. its just too expensive to keep buying more clothes until a stable weight i**** I say this in retrospect because yes i have lost 50 lbs since June w/o surgery and it has stalled completely nearly. but i know after surgery the weight loss is so great and i already went down several sizes. so i shop and stock up. the other idea is to hit Kmart/Avenue clearance sales or sales in general. I hope to buy a few giftcards for clothes to put up so i can have one decent pair of jeans for each size or month. my place i go to said u loose up to 25 percent of body fat the first month so i would try to wait til its over to get clothes. i think it would be really cool if we could do a clothing exchange on this website but i dont know if its allowed. but its just a thought. i hope i helped you some.
