Checking in ... Happy Holidays All

Hello everyone! Sorry it has been a while since I checked in, things are just so crazy around here with kids and holidays, and working a lot of hours.

I had my gallbladder removed. I am feeling pretty good. It has been just over 3 weeks. Took almost 3 weeks to find out I have a stitch. My belly was itching and something kept snagging on my shirt, and I thought Id take a look, and found a clear stitch. Hmmm... Never had stitches before in all my other surgeries ( about 6 lap. surgeries in 3 years) but this was a different doctor, and a different surgery. So all is good. I am still sore from time to time. And at first I was still having pains when I eat, they seem to be going away slowly.

Which brings me to my next problem. Today I am SOOOOOOOO hungry, nothing is filling me up. I feel like I am looking for something to eat to often today. I mentioned to my hubby I need to go to the grocery store for bananas and go to GNC for protein, thinking maybe my protein is low. Any one have any ideas? I usually do Chocolate protein and 2% milk and a banana for a treat, but I am really looking for a new treat, any one have any ideas? Also I am looking for unflavored (unjury) protein to try different things. (pudding, shakes, or anything)

I hope everyone is doing well. Weight loss it still going on here, slowly. Because of the surgery and now the weather. I have slacked on exercising, but I am thinking today I am going to bundle up and take a walk in the wind, and 32 degree weather, BRRRRRRRR ... I'm cold just thinking about it. Since I lost the weight I have not liked the cold. the other day I was so cold, it literally hurt. I asked Santa for a snuggie for Christmas. I sure hope he listened to me. Hahahaha

Well I am off the get the little one ready for school. And then to the stores, anyone with ideas please let me know. Thank you

take care all,
Miss

Hey lady! Great to hear from you. Remember you are still healing from that surgery, so be gentle with yourself. You will have an increased intolorance for fats of any kind now that your gallbladder is out. So use caution in that arena. The pain will subside, you likely have a lot of bruising in there from the procedure, and it will pass around 6 weeks out or so.

Unflavored unjury you can get at www.unjury.com I use unjury and really like it. When i want a treat, I often make a smoothie. I freeze either greek or regular vanilla or plain yogurt into cube trays, and use them instead of ice, it keeps the smoothie creamy and from being watered down from the ice. Then I use a scoop of protein and whatever kind of fruit I am in the mood for, then add just a touch of milk to make it blendable, along with a touch of vanilla extract and if needed some splenda. YUMMYYYYYYYY...  You can make many different flavors too, using some crystal light to change it up a bit...but then do not add any sweetner as you will not need it. You can even do chocolate and it is good, with frozen yogurt, a bit of milk or water and choc protein. The sky is the limit. Unjury also offers recipes on their site you can check into.

I too have had a case of colditis since my wls, even when I was still heavy but losing weight. I am going to be 2 1/2 years out next month on the 21st and still have it. Many wls patients do. I thought it may have ended after my hysterectomy, when my only remaining orvary was in shock and i was hot flashing... but within 4 weeks or so... the ovary kicked back in to operation and the hot flashes stopped and the colddddddddd returned. I keep saying I am going to have to move to a tropical paradise if I am going to keep from freezing to death... sounds like a good excuse to go anyhow huh?? lol.

Best of healing wishes coming your way.
Hugs!
