Let me start by saying YES I was warned... but do I like it? NOOOOOO..

I have stalled!... its been a week now.. same freaking numbers... no change.. but it will go up a pound with all the liquids..then back to s a m e   n u m b e r!   oh and let me say I can't poop.. oh yeah.. I went there too.. lol.. I am drinking all my liquids.. and taking my vitamins.. I was told this is common.. but how long does stalls last this early? as my body is adjusting.. oo please let this body adjust quick!.... I adjust to gripping my buttocks to sit comfortably on a toilet seat to then not have nothing come out.. I adjust to drinking all that protien crap while convincing myself it was the good stuff.. and I adjust with not being able to lean to shave my leggs and going all natural for a time period.. I adjust to now having my husband give me a suppository all week.... and he had fun with that... dont ask! .. I adjusted to eating non chewable puree..and somethings we took forgranted.. like eating.. oh yeah.. I did not realize I ate 3 times a day with carbs.. im lucky to have a sniff and lick a noodle now.. LOL.... So.. as much as I seen others post.. im gonna say... WHYYYYYY am I stalling.. what can I do to get past this??.. yeah Im too lazy right now to search the other posts... my butt is now comfy on this chair.. til time for my shake.. oh yeah... yummo... its fillet migon today.. lol.. Then time to drink some snacks... flavor burst in my mouth... I can mean that in a nice way... since the strategy of taking away food and then slowly giving it back.. I am delighted at the small things.. veg soup broth.. homemade.. had it yesterday.. YUM.. I was in heaven..and I do not think of the milkshakes or hamburgers I loved... I think of how im gonna mix my next flavor.. Im doing great.. til this STALL!  This is my whine post... ( sigh..breathing deep)

Hang in there gal! your doing great we all have our times like this as you mentioned, just thnk how hard it was b4 your surgery and how much we would gain because we COULD eat all the food we wanted. Good you expressed how you feel, that's what this support is good for  hang in there your wt will start coming off b4 you know!  ps I found it helpful to stay away from the scale and just weigh 1x a wk or every 3-4 days this worked for me(I used to wt daily in the beginning). Good luck to you!  I too am FINALLY off my stand still .  Cathy

STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALE.  Remember not to gauge your successes by ONLY the scale.  I am not sure if you are doing so now, but if not start measuring yourself.  The stall is just your body adjusting to the weight loss so far.  Keep doing what you are doing.  Make sure your protein is 60-100 and get tha****er in.  May I also suggest some benefiber daily or some miralax to make you poop.  It could just take a good ole POOP to get things back moving DOWN.  I would check with your surgeon before taking either though.  You know, just to be in the safe side.

TRY to go a week without weighing yourself!!!  You may get a surprise!

I know, I know....I DO KNOW EXACTLY how you are feeling.. Now take a deep beath and relax. You are going to start losing again. Any day now it will happen. can last a couple weeks. BUT know your body needs this time to adjust. It has gone through so much trauma and change in so many ways from it's original lay out being rearranged, to not getting the food that it was used to for so long.  Right now it is just trying to figure out how to keep from starving to death.

If you can begin working a bit more walking into your day. NOT alot, but gradually begin to increase it. This can help. Make sure you are getting enough liquids and protein in. and relax as your body tries to comprehend all of this.

BIG HUGSSSSS to you..

oh please dont say weeks.. ...

SO true, I know so much has changed in my body, I would have thought I was adjusting well and stall would come later..

I walked walmart.. is that good? HAHA... we have the largest walmart in the east coast region.. I walked it.. and I walked the mall.. then I walked my house.. just not doing outside.. its cold..and my asthma will act up..

I was thinking of getting out my stepper.. would it be too soon? Im not allowed any sit ups or such til next visit and I am cleared.. I am excited for that to come..

Oh and I can see my ankles .......when I put my foot up..hahaa.. but they are smaller..

I am getting all my liquids in.. and protein..

The feeling of I messed something up ponders my mind though... but I see and read and know this is normal.. but my brain wants to act up and create a misfit of worries.. too bad I cant put it on a time out..haha..

I think the biggest problem most of us have with the stalls, is that we are stuck in that dieters mentality. If we see that scale stop going down, we start to think we have failed yet again, or worry that we may be that one weird person that this does not work for.

CLEAR THE INTERNAL RECORDINGS! Thats an order! Drop the dieters mindset, and accept this as a part of the journey, knowing in your heart it WILL pass. As i said, my first stall was at just 11 days out. imagine how upset I was! AND no one forewarned me that it could happen. I told my hubby I was gonna go make the surgeon re-do it..lol... It is going to be ok sweetheart...I promise.

It is good that you walked all of that, as long as it wasn't too much for you. Key right now is to not overdo it. I would say to put off the stepper until your surgeon clears you.

Know too, that once you hit about 3 months out, the loss slows to about half of what it was in the beginning. Brace yourself now for that reality. Very few do not experience this. The reason is you have less to lose, and you body is beginning to adjust a bit. And know, when this happens, it is perfectly normal as well! Along with all of the other stalls you will face in the future.

I stalled every month! but look now.. I have hit my goal, am at a normal BMI, in a size 8 jean and a medium top. You will make it my friend..just follow the rules and you will be fine!

Big hugs to you.

ok hey there miss lady... remember we had our surgeries the same day... its funny you posted this because I weigh myself once a week and I was a little disappointed to see I only lost 4 pounds this week, i was debating about posting because I was thinking maybe I am doing something wrong, but after reading the responses I realize this is normal so I feel much better.  I know that I have not gotten in allmy protien daily as I should.  I try really hard but its just doesnt seem to be enough time in the day to eat 6 small meals, drink 48-64 ozs of water, and take in 60gms of protein.  Today I decided that I would try something a little different, the protein is my biggest obsticle because i do not like the taste and have bought several different types now.  I remembered when I went in to my 2 week post op..the nutrionist say that I could add more protien into smaller doses if it helped to get the total count in for the day. so I have mixed 2 beneprotien packs in 4 ozs fat free lactose free milk.  its still a lil nasty but easier to drink then my shakes were.... for my water and other liquids I drink more taking small sips from the bottle rather than using the 1oz med cups... just a few things I am trying to help get me past the hump... hope they help you... and for pooping your doctor didnt give you anything to take?  I was given Colace (liqiud) it is nasty as heckbut works wonders when needed.... good luck and i am here for you : )

yes,, and how are you at 4 lbs down..and Im sitting.. lol.. lucky ..

I like the idea of breaking the amounts of protein down.. My Nut had me on 8 oz 3 xs a day.. gag.. but I been doing it.. I drink it first, to get my protein in.. I do eat tuna and white fish now, and cottage cheese, and pudding.. and baby foods.. some are not that bad.. but I even had home made veg soup over weekend.. omgosh.. was so yummy.. and I did great with it as I chewed the food into mush and took my time.. I called my Nut and he said it was ok, just not too much :)

For my protein I mix it with skim milk..and add flavors to it..

Im not allowed to take anything by mouth for the BM problem they said no oral meds for that, she said to get suppositories, so I did and not much help but lil.. Im slowly improving as of yesterday..

Thanks for the tips :)
