The biggest Loser event is out of control. It's going to be life changing. I'm definitely going.  Plus it gives me an excuse to go to Vegas.  www.losebiginvegas.com

What do you guys think about them?

Well the biggest loser is ok, but not for everyday people. (my humble opinion). The contestants are paid to participate, and can put life on hold to make it a full time job to lose the weight. I know in my life I canb't and most people it is not realistic for. But the event sounds interesting and fun... let us know how you enjoy it! Hope you have a blast!

It used to be my inspiration.. now I can hardly stand to watch it.  Just knowing how unhealthy it really is turns me off.

Sure you can drop tons of weight, but how many are really keeping it off? Not many.
If more kept the weight off why do they only show a few "guests".

I tried watching it last nite for "old time sake" but ended up online instead.

as a mental health counselor, I have to wonder what kind of informed consent the participants have to sign up front. the contestents are signing on a for a very public experience that is in essence a experiment in social psychology.

let us know how it goes, please.

i was thinking the same thing in regards to them being able to just put thier lives on hold, but for the most part the ones that lose weight do it off the ranch.  There are very few that actually stay on the entire duration as they get voted off.

So there must be something to it.  70% of the people that appear on the show keep the weight off, and they all have to return to normal lives.
