Bariatric Buddy
This weeks challenge! Lets ALL participate!
I know for me, I have more of a desire to truly live my life rather than merely exist as I had for so many years.
Your challenge is this: Think about where you are now either in your wls journey, or in life itsself. Think about a few things you would like to see happen for you or be a bit different, and write these down. Then create a simple step by step plan of action to begin going after these things and make them happen. Please come back and share your discoveries, hopes, plans, etc.
Mine:
1.) I am burnt out on staying home and caring for my husband all of the time. He is able to do more for himself, and I feel a very strong need to move forward in my life. I have decided to persue going back to school. Plan is to go from LPN to RN, which with pre-req's will take me about 2 years. Then I want to work on a bariatric unit if possible. Most likely I will first get my associates degree in RN, then may consider moving on part time to get my BSN. Not certain on this part yet. I also know that taking on this endeavor will require lots of planning and preparation to keep me on track during this time, so plans will be laid to do so.
2.) I have had a lot going on and have not been as attentive to all aspects of my wls lifestyle as I could be. I am reassessing where I am not as on track as I'd like to be, and from there will plan my course of action to get back to where I need to be....before I have any regreats, or regain or regular bad habits to have to deal with. (YES even support group leaders struggle with certain aspects of this journey. Ah to be human....) This will include Saying NO to others more and YES to me more. SELF CARE.. very important!
NEXT??? What did you come up with? Lets share and inspire one another!

Me, I'm a firm believer in the adage "Life is what happens to you when you are busy making plans" so I do try to avoid actually making those darn plans as much as possible! he he
On the other hand, I do want to travel a lot more for as long as I still can, so as from this spring, travel will become one of my top priorities. We are making very loose plans so far - nothing written in stone - but I can see at least one European capital and one Greek island for next spring-summer. On a more practical basis, trying to regain walking ability is my number 1 priority, therefore, activities promoting that goal are in the books for me, starting soonest possible. All that, of course, while I continue my efforts to lose the last of all this darn weight!
Best of luck to all of you in achieving your plans.
Amalia
I will do my best to succeed in my plans. It will be a nice distraction from what "has been" for the last 3 plus years. I love to learn and NEED to feel useful again, and feel like I have a life.
I LOVE your plans and hopes and goals. If you ever want to come visit stateside, let me know! Would love to have you and your hubby as our guest.
Do you get to go to physical therapy to assist you in your walking? I hope so.. but you are a strong and determined lady... you are going to do awesome!
Thank you for sharing

The project that I am working on for ME is my 'girl cave' in the upstairs of the garage. I plan to set it up for my sewing/quilting area. I have been MIA from the threads as I work on the project. My dad has been visiting and assisting with the construction.
Come visit us at the bariatric buddy group http://www.obesityhelp.com/group/bariatricbuddy/welcome
WOOO HOOOO on the girl cave! Can't wait to see the pictures!
Still waiting for my hole to be dug here, which is frustrating me to heck. It's been nice so far all week, and supposed to get yucky tomorrow.. don't know what they are waiting for...Oh well... one of these days it will happen.

Awesome topic! My goodness. I feel so inspired, so often we are stuck in a rut and don't even realize it. In my case and situation, I want to open myself up to the possibilities of dating! In the past I couldn't imagine that someone was attracted to me. I think now I have to let myself be open to meeting someone new and seeing where the road will take me instead of closing myself off. I want to learn how to take a compliment! I'm still waiting for my head to catch up to the scale :)
Another short term goal is to start back with my support group meetings and logging onto chats here. I think I learn so much from everyone that it can only help me.
I'm still dealing with the changes from weight loss surgery that I want to wait on thinking about returning back to school until I have a handle on me. But it is a long term goal.
Lourdes
P.S. Forgot another goal, trying to get my avatar pic to publish. for some reason they are still too big. LOL
Do come back to our chats! And post here for support. We are here to help you!
You look awesome lady! And I mean that genuinely, and you must accept it as such! (((HUGS)))
