Good morning everyone.  Did you survive the trick and treating last evening without indulging?  I nearly did, caved in and had 3 mini tootsie rolls at work last night.  The rest of the shift, I did great.

Remember that chat is this evening.
Shortcut to the chat area (this chat area is not on the OH site ) is   http://www.bariatricbuddy.com/chat/   Please feel free to stop by the chat area before chat actually starts to register.  Simple form, follow the instructions when you click on the above shortcut.   Use the password "buddy".   Once registered, entering chat again is super easy.   We start at 7pm eastern, 6pm central, 5pm mountain and 4pm pacific. Chat usually lasts about an hour.  Any questions, send a PM to KathyB4me, here at OH.      I plan to be there.  See (or rather chat with) you Monday evening.  Hugs, Kathy   Remember the password for the first time you enter this chat area is "buddy", you can set up your own password after registering.  Toodles

I didn't do too well on not indulging in the candies. Actually, I just pretty much blew it all day. However, I got back on program today and made every bite count.

Slip ups happen to us humans.  Getting back on track is the best.  One major sweets holiday done, a couple more to go this year.

I blew it too.  Had milk and a Reese cups.  At least peanut butter has protein.  Hows that for justification?  LOL!

Tis OK Colleen.  Milk has  a bit of protein too.  Just good to limit ourselves from our previous habits.

I ate some candy   for once in my life I wish my pouch would have said NO.... but it didn't it let me have a small Hersey's candy, these were my down fall and I really should have stayed away but was so tempting with all the candy and kids at our house, it's like all was calling out my name I ate 3 pcs yesterday but good thing I did get hot flashes from them so this was a good thing because who likes hot flashes!!!! not I.  Back on track now and I told myself I better get on line and vent and get support this always helps. Please tell me I'm normal .  Cathy

The "hot flashes" could have been part of a dumping syndrome,  yay your pouch works.  Congrats on the success to this point, look at your ticker.  So coooooool.

I survived, but did cheat a little. I had Jolly Ranchers, while handing out candy. I didn't buy chocolate, because I knew that would be it. I may have really fell off the wagon and ran away from the wagon wildly. I think the most important thing is...I did not let the fact that I cheated stop me from keeping the ultimate goal in my mind and keep moving towards it. In the past, I may have been so disappointed with my weakness, that I would have likely just said "forget it!", and stopped everything.

Yes Heather, keep your sight on the end goal.  This is a marathon, not a sprint.  Look at your ticker move, coool.

Ohhh gals... all so normal! No self beating needed! Just recognize that these are not choices we want to continue to make, be a bit more disciplined and move forward to the next moment. Each moment we have the choice to make the right choice. Sometimes we fall, but up we go to try to do our very best again!

I for one didn't have a bite of candy. Didn't buy any to give out! Spent most of the day n bed feeling blah. BUT ohhhh my goodness, why oh why did I have to have that oatmeal right before bed.. ugh...

Ohhhh and those "hot flashes" from the candy.... that is the beginnings of a dumpng syndrome.. you got lucky gal! Just a mild episode.
