"IT'S FRIDAY IN THE MOTOR CITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My best friend and I used to work for a drug company. We always knew when she arrived on Friday morning because she would open the back door and yell at the top of her lungs, "IT'S FRIDAY IN THE MOTOR CITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Of course that means something a little different when you're 18 as opposed to 50. Back then it meant drinking and carousing. Now it just means the day before Saturday! LOL!
I dropped another half pound yesterday. I think it could have been more if I had eaten properly. Don and I went on a shopping expedition yesterday: Sam's Club, Trader Joe's, Costco and Meijer's. By the time I got home I was whipped but I did get a fair amount of walking in yesterday.
So today will be a lot less hectic. If Don wants to go shopping he will be on his own. I am doing laundry and sorting beads and doing some housework today. I am also going to build some rest time in as well.
At my first follow up appointment with the surgeon they gave me a book written by two women who met and became friends during their WLS journey. They enlisted the assistance of their surgeon and wrote a book about what to expect during all phases we go through and lots of practical advice. I can't lay my hands on the book right now but I'll post the title if and when I find it. Anyway, the reason I brough this up is that they describe a phenomenon that they named themselves, which they call, "scramps." I've had them twice; they are NOT pleasant. Think of the worst charlie horse or leg cramp you have ever had and then times it by 100. The pain is incredible and seems to happen only at night. I'm pretty sure it was a case of the scramps but this is something that I had never heard anybody mention prior to now. Has anybody else heard of this intense cramping pain and is there an actual medical term for it?
Well the rest of the family is up and at'em. I guess it's time to get moving.
I hope you all have a great day.
Colleen
