Hello everyone,
Did any of you guys ever have trouble with getting you liquids in or even food?  It has been a week ago today that I had surgery and I just don't have an appetite. I really just eat at the times that I have set to be on schedule with meals and of course it's only 1 or 2 tsp fulls.I'm even having to force my fluids. Will this change soon? They say eat until your satisfied but I'm not hungry to begin with.lol! I'm trying to get as much protien in as I can. but I'm really falling a few oz's short of 48. I'm about 36 sometimes alittle less. ??????????

I am 5 months out and still do not get hungry.. I eat because I know I have to eat. You are doing great for a week out.. 48 oz of protein after just a week is amazing.. I still have trouble getting that much in a day now. Don't fret too much, just do what you can and it will get easier in time. You are only on a liquid diet right now so the protein intake will change when you switch to meats:)

Congrats on changing your life.. you will be amazed how well you will feel:)

Hugs

Thanks Davina, I'm just getting liquids in.  I just started on the Carnation instant breakfast and yogart to get some of my protien in.  It takes me a couple a few hours but I make sure I finish my drink. lol.  I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one not having much of an appetite.

Thank you

What you are going through is very very common. This is where setting a schedule helps with getting the meals in because the hunger triggers aren't there now. They will return eventually, and that will be a little scarey too.

Just structure as well as you can and as time goes by you will find it easier and easier to get in all you need to.

You are doing well for this soon after surgery. You will fimd that getting in the protein and fluids does get easier, eventually. Enjoy the lack of hunger and work the program set out by your surgical team. Get in the short walks and carry liquids with you at all times for sip, sip, sip. Hang in there. Hugs.
