Each day gets better
I haven't been home from surgery very long at all but each day seems to just get better and better. I pray that it stays on this path.
Today I decided to go my sis's house. Now, I cant say that I really had the desire to eat but I will say that the smells were overwhelming. In my mind I wanted to eat and taste and get that sensation I remember from eating. This is something that I really want to dissipate as much as possible because I can see it as a problem in the future. Everything sounds and looks so good.
I experienced hot flashes today. I decided to get out with my sis and figured that would be a great chance to get in some walking. Because of my knee the walking is not tolerable for long periods of time. I pretty much have the time in short minutes to get it moving and then I seem to need the entire day to recuperate. Well I was waling and all of the sudden I just got so warm and it was holding hands with nausea to the point that I had to sit, rest, take deep breaths and take of my really thin jacket. I sat for about 5min before it calmed down. I didn't like that at all.
I do find it hard to get in 75grms of protein 50 is no problem because its in the morning and early noon. That last shake seems so hard because I lose the desire to really drink anything so I need to figure this out and quickly. I think I will have to readjust my schedule so that the last shake is around 3pm otherwise I don't know if I will get it in. If anyone has any tips please let me know.

I just recently discovered that our fat cells actually hold on to hormones and those hormones are released as we lose weight. It sounds like maybe you have a bit of that going on right now. With me it was depression and crying. My doctor put me on Cymbalta and that really seemed to help. Hang in there. When the weight really starts to fall off it will all be worth it.

Gigi... It almost sounds like you were expeincing a mild dumping episode with the lightheadedness and nausea. It can also be just from overdoing things. Please be careful.
Maybe for your afternoon protein you can mix it with crystal light, and sip it over the course of an hour or two. It counts as protein and liquids this way. Or make some protein pops. Sugarfree pudding, with some protein mixed in then freeze in small portion sizes like ice trays. You may also want to try unjury chicken flavored broth to si[p on in the evenings.

Thanks guys. I am making an agreement with myself to take the 3rd protein. I really dont have a choice because I want this to be a positive healthy lifestyle change and so I can't afford to screw up so early in the game. I have also decided to put the scale away until next Friday. I have lost 10lbs since Mondays surgery. Dont know if that is good bad or typical but I do know that its done. Feel kinda blah. Gonna put the stockings back on and climb in the bed. Oh yeah, I did get up and walk briskly this morning but only for about 10 min or so so I will do more later. And Patrece I will chcken into the Unjury Chicken Protein. Sounds like it could be a great choice. Oh and I took my vitamins already. Ok tired now so I am going. I hope that next week when my diet changes that I will get more energy but for now I have until Monday on the liquid diet with protein.
