Good morning!

Good morning to all.

I went in for my hernia repair on Monday.  It turns out that I actually had two hernias and the surgeon did a "mini" tummy tuck while he was at it.  Don't know if the insurance will cover it or not but I'll jump off that bridge when I come to it.  I took the bandage off this morning and it doesn't look too bad.  I gained 10 pounds which makes me want to cry but I know that's from fluids and will be gone by the end of the week (I hope.)

He prescribed one bottle in very small doses of my precious Lortab liquid.  It turns out that I have built a tolerance for it and it doesn't work any more so everybody can relax.  I'm back to taking the morphine but it doesn't seem to be helping me any either.

I'm allowed to do walking and light housework.  I did a clean up of everything except my dining room table; my husband has been using it as a desk for the last month or so and it's a lost cause.  He has one of the laptops there and I'm pretty sure he is there to stay.

I got to Joanne's the other day to do the makeup class with the lady I didn't know I had but she had already requested a refund.  It was a bit confusing all the way around; the education coordinator realized she forgot to tell me about the class and the lady couldn't reschedule because her mom is in hospice.  Not sure why you would schedule a hobby class when you have a dying parent but maybe she just wanted to get away for a bit.  Anyway, at the moment, I have no shortage of students.  I have 5 classes scheduled between now and December.  Enough to make a little extra money, but not enough to hurt my disability checks.

Since I can't do much right now, it was the perfect time for me to dismantle about 400 pieces of jewelry that will be turned into Rosaries and Chaplets.  I have been sorting beads since yesterday morning and it will probably take me the rest of the day to finish, if not longer.  I hate not being able to drive and this is the day that I go and visit my best bud. We met because they were short of lockers in the 3rd grade class I was in so we ended up sharing even though we had different classes.  We are both pushing 50 now and I wouldn't give up my friendship with her for 100 friends.  We have always been there for each other in so many ways; she is the sister I never had.

I am really getting excited about the retreat.  SSDI owes me almost $18,000 and I should have had it by now.  If I have to sleep in my car so be it, but I'll be there.  I just hope the money gets here before the retreat sells out.  I don't fly anymore and besides, you miss so much of our beautiful country by flying.  I will get to hit at least 4 or 5 states that I have never been to before and hubby is letting me take the video camera so that will be fun. I was collecting coffee mugs from all the states that I have been too but had to switch to shot glasses, even though I don't drink because I ran out of room.

Well I guess that's all for now.  I hope you all have a great day!

hey there lady! Glad all went well with your hernia surgery. I was wondering about that, and am so glad you posted!

Don't dismantle all of the jewelry! You may want to bring a few pieces to the retreat, there may be ladies there who might like to buy some. I can't promise, but its worth a go right! I too am very excited about the retreat. You will not have to sleep in the car! The retreat includes all lodging and food. Can't wait to meet you there!

What are the chances your friend can come visit you since you are not up to being out and about quite yet? That would be so good for you.

Please don't over do things, as those hernia repairs must have time to hel so they don't get reinjured! Hugs and love to you!
