Home from Surgery
Everything went perfect on Monday. The doctor was able to get in and do her thing without any problems at all. She said I did great with the weight that I had lost pre-op. I feel fine and am up and walking every little chance I get. I have six small incisions that are somewhat tender. I also have spotting a diarrhea.
I have realized that plain tea works best for me right now. The jello is too cold and sweet while the broth just has too much salt and or flavor. Cold is not working at all. I was thinking that it would help soothe my gut but I was wrong.
I don't regret it and pray I never will. I am a bit fatigued also. It is my goal to not rely on the pain medicine so that I can really tell what is going on with my body.
How long does this gas last? My stomach is just busy as a bee. Let me know if anyone has any advice. I am gonna go crush some pills now. Ta ta y'all and thanks so much for the cheers, support and most of all the prayers!

Welcome home and it's great to hear that you are doing so well!
Bad news about the gas; get used to it. It's all part of the new lifestyle. You'll have good and bad days but the gas is here to stay. When I first heard about the issue my first thought was my husband and payback time!
I couldn't drink anything too cold either at first. I'm a year out and just now able to tolerate cold drinks without it hurting. Just remember baby steps. You have a whole new you to deal with. You will be fine!

(((GIgi))) Welcome to the losers bench my friend! You have worked so hard for this and come so far! I am soooo proud of you I can't even find the words to express it.
The pressure (gas) you are experiencing now is from all of the air they had to pump into you during surgery. To be honest, it was probably the most bothersome part of my post-op experience. Taking several small walks can help rid your body of it. Also you may want to try mylicon or another gas reducing med to help.
What colleen said about gas being a part of this journey.. well thats pretty right on. BUT it changes to a normal "pass gas" rather than the gas that creates all that internal pressure you have now. Kathy and I have a running joke that our group name is bariatric buddy's and we experience lots of bariatric butt-ease.
I named my pouch bubbles, as it has always made so many bubbling gurgling growling noises. I just figure it is bubbles way of having 'self expression"..lol I had a friend that was playing hide and seek with her two kids, and the kids found her everytime, because of the grumbling in her tummy...lol. It eases a bit after time, but in my experience, has not completely gone away.
Take excellent care of yourself. rest when you need it and listen to what your body tells you. Maybe try some crystal ligh****ered down a bit, and warm it up if warm liquids set best. You can also dilute broth to get it to where it is not so strong.
Welcome to the losers bench my friend! So glad to have you join us here fnally and I look forward to traveling this journey with you!

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
GIGI I am so happy that you are feeling well. It sounds like you are such a positive person. The gas you have now will subside in a few days maybe a week but it does get better each day. You will not regret this at all when the weight starts to fall off. Keep up the positive attitude I wish you well. I found that I did good with yogurt and smoothies (protein) when the Dr said I could have them. Keep trying things to see if they work for you. Keep us updated.
The boobie perk up comes later ;0)
Meanwhile kick butt on your weight loss and new lifestyle. Your daughter is goig to benefit tremendously from the healthy new life she will be shown and she will have her awesome Mommy to thank for her vitality and good health later as well.
Hugs
