Bariatric Buddy
I have retuned and caught up on posts! Sorting out my life..
LOL... I knew you meant peace keeper!
Thanks for your understanding. I have progressed little by little over the past 6 months on setting some limits, but not as much as I would like to have. BUT every change we make has to begin somewhere. If it requires small steps in the beginning, thats ok, at least we are taking those steps and moving forward. As we are able to we will pick up the pace in whatever it is we are trying to change. I was taking baby steps before, now the steps have become a bit of a longer stride.
I hear you well on the part about falling on deaf ears. this is where we have to stand our ground ...remind them of what we shared with them, and follow through by not giving in. It is not easy to do especially in the beginning, but once you do it a few times, it really brings about a sense of freedom of sorts. Let go of the worry of making waves, and consider it a way of keeping your own head above the water and the waves others are creating in your life. This is how I look at it. I try to be very gentle, and let them know i love them, but it is time to love me a little too.
I wish you the best as you begin to implement these boundries into your life. those around us will be shocked at first, but they will adjust and eventually learn to "not go there" on areas we have defined and stuck to our guns on.
Hugs!!!!!!
By the way... you look awesomeeeeeeeeeee

I wish I could give you words of wisdom Patrece, but I don't have any. I'm in the awkward position of needing a caregiver while at the same time being a caregiver myself. The give and take is never balanced and someone always ends up with the short end of the stick. Do what you must to feel as good about yourself as you can. An unhappy person can't give out anything but more unhappiness.

Thanks Amalia! If there is one thing I have learned about myslef in the past few years, it is that I can make it through what comes my way. It's just trying to find the best path or best approach so I can learn to get through it with minimal emotional pain and without being hurtful to others as well... Thats the tricky part..lol.
Think I needed a bit more time away at Kathy's to recharge...lol
Hugs and love to you my friend

Wow, I didn't know about your hubby. But I agree that he should participate in the capacities that he can. It's not fair to put all of that emotional burden on you. You're partners.
I think you're doing the right thing for you. I do think you will be better at the end of it. There is nothing wrong with making time for you.

Thank you for the support. We have had many talks lately about all of this, we shall see where it may lead...or not. Have a great day.
