I feel GOOD!
WOW! talk about something to lift my spirits.
For the last couple of weeks the scale HAS NOT moved, despite daily trips to the gym, and a carefully watched diet. Everyone kept telling me that it's not the scale that necessarily matters, it's the fat mass to lean mass ratio, and how my clothes are fitting me. I know, I know - I should have believed them, but it's hard when you've been conditioned since you were little that the number on the scale really does matter. Its like saying that you are always going to have a car payment.
Yesterday I had my appointment with my personal trainer for a 6 week re-evaluation. Every six weeks we weigh and measure my body. I was pleasantly suprised, and maybe even a little shocked.
Even though I am only down a little over 40 pounds, but in a year ( I wish I would have been measured right befofre surgery in July, but I didn't - so these measurement come from last November; when I tried to do it on my own, and failed) I have lost 4.8% body fat, 28 lbs of fat mass, 5 inches from my chest, 6.25 inches from my waist and 5 inches from my hips. When added to the inches I've lost from the above and my thights and arms, I've lost a total of 27.5 inches.
Last night to celebrate I had two servings of sugar free pudding instead of one! Way to go Me!
Folks, I was BLOWN away.
I want to thank everyone that has ever posted a reply, especially the times when I was feeling down. You've been a real support in my life, both pre-op and post-op. Thank you so much.

Cooool Jeannine congratulations. Love to read posts from each and every member. The inches to add up, even when the scale says otherwise. You are working your tool, that is how this is supposed to go. You will be able to look back on this time, some time in the future, and shout for joy.
Break up the exercise rut, try something different and the weight loss should resume. Add in more water, maybe a little more protein, check with your nutritionist. Remember we are your support here online. Come check in as often as you can, support yourself and others. I get so much more than I give here on OH. Getting to know others a little better and myself too in the process.
Great job on losing inches. Hugs

Hey lady! great to have you posting! Please remember, hitting plateaus is a very normal and actually healthy part of any weight loss plan. Surgical wls procedures are no different. Our body must have time to figure out what the heck is going on with it... it is all so foreign to it in most of our cases. Also remember that with the band, you will lose a bit slower than us who have had malabsorptive procedures, but the loss will continue longer.. so in the end, it evens out. Be patient with yourself and your body. As long as you are doing all of the right things, youare going to succeed! I can relate too, to your statement of You know people have told you this, but its hard to accept. I was in the same place earlier out in my surgery. But time and time again, it proved to be true.
Remember to always remember, we are embarking on a total lifestyle change. this is not a "diet" or exercise regime. This is a new way of living ur lives and we must embraceit and accept it, plateaus and all. Only then can you really feel at peace with the little setbacks along the way. We are retraining our minds and our bodies, after years of abusive habits that it has grown accustomed to.
You are doing awesome lady! And remember not all of our success is measured by the numbers on the scale, nor the tape measure. It is also measured by the little things that never cross our minds until they happen, like the first time you cross your legs without having to lift you leg up to cross it over, or bending over to tie our shoes and being able to breathe at the same time, of not struggling to reach to wipe our own behind..lol Keep up the great efforts you are investing into your health. You will get results! Just allow your bosy time to catch up with all of the changes it is going through too and be patient with it as well.
Hugs
