Well went to the doctor today for my follow up. Told him about the pains when I try to eat dinner. I'm noticing it more and more when I eat. Hmmm?? And mentioned I itch a lot! He told me both are signs for gallbladder problems. there are 3 things to look for pain, itching and yellow color. Just missing the yellow coloring. I now go for an Ultra sound of my gallbladder Monday, and go for an EDG on the 22nd.

That's all I need another surgery.. I think this is either #10 or #11 if I have to have one. Goodness!!!

Well I am glad to have an answer but here go the nerves.

How long will I be down, what does this mean now. OH I'm scared. I feel the tears. I'm strong I can hold it back, but I don't know what the expect.

Well of to get little munchkin on the bus and then to the grocery store. For some dinner fixings.
Hope everyone is well .

WOWWW... I had no clue about the itch part of it.. thank you for sharing that!

Do not panic. Most likely he'll do it laproscopically if it needs removed. It is not as bad as RNY to recover from usually. It's very common after WLS. My daughter had it done. You will feel sooooo much better after it is out, if thats what is going on.

The EDG won't be bad, they sedate you and it is basically a scoping procedure. I am sure he's looking to make sure there are no blockages going on to be sure it is just galbladder.

Try not to be scared. this is very routine and you'll be up to par in no time feeling better. Like I said it seems to be an easier recovery than Lap RNY, which wsn't sooo bad for me. in 2 to 3 weeks you will be doing great, on lifting restrictions but feeling pretty darned good. at least most are.

Big hugs of comfort coming your way!

Gallbladder surgery is routine nowadays and it's usually done laparoscopically. I had mine removed 6 years ago and it was SUCH a relief not to be in pain any more! Best of luck.

Melissa-

It will be okay. I had my gallbladder out last week and am up and about with little discomfort. It isn't something to put off if your gallbladder is inflamed. I waited too long and had to have it taken as an emergency. They said I had a stone the size of a robins egg. Get it checked out and I promise you will feel tons better. Good luck:)

Melissa, I had my gallbladder removed several years ago, after dealing with the discomfort for several months.  The surgery is very simple, recovery quick and oh myyyyyyyyy, what a wonderful difference.  I do not miss the little gallbladder.  Good riddance.  The other procedure is also relatively quick.  Take care and know that we are here for your support.  Hugs

I had my gallbladder out when I was 17. They did it lap. I was up and out the same day and them back to school on Monday (could've been at school sooner but I had Surgery on a Friday)!

Had an ultra sound yesterday, and they found stones in the gallbladder, LUCKY ME! UGH!!! I go Next Friday (10/22) for an EDG (scope of the gallbladder) then hopefully when know from there. Something is not right, it hurts so bad to eat, I have slowly switched over to liquid diet, Negative not enough vitamins and nutrition needed. Positive will help loose some more weight (just not in a healthy way) Gonna try to do the shake thing and hope and pray it doesn't hurt my stomach as bad as food, going to beg to get this taken care of as soon as possible so I can get back to normal life.
