Hello all!

Good morning!

I had a post that I was half way done with last week and my kid got on the computer and lost it.GRRRRRRRRRR!  He has been visiting for a week and going home today.  I love him to death but I'm glad this visit is almost over.  He is going with me to my friend's house today to paint her garage then I'm dropping him off at his girlfriend's house.  It will be nice to have my office back.

I haven't been very well behaved this week as far as food is concerned.  I think that I have pushed the limits on sugar and discovered that I don't dump.  Not a good thing at all.  I am waiting for a rather large sum of money as I just won my appeal for my disability benefits and at that time I will seek some private counseling. I'm not losing or gaining at this point but still have a little ways to go to goal.  I was very excited to go shopping last week; I am now wearing a size 14 pants.  I haven't been this "thin" in over 25 years.  I absolutely refuse to go back to my old habits. We are also getting ready to go organic here.  We did a little shopping the other day and were impressed with what we bought.  It will take some time to use up what we have and replace it all but in the long run it will be worth it and we will be healthier for it.  My husband is starting a diet today.  Please keep him in your thoughts.  He is up to almost 300.  He carries most of it in his stomach.  The doctor wanted him to go for the surgery but he wasn't able to get the time off of work.  Now he hurt his leg moving one of the motorcycles a few weeks ago while we were on vacation and has been off ever since.  He had a hematoma that the surgeon had to drain.  It was done during an office visit but due to his diabetes it is slow in healing.  We didn't even realize it until the other day that we forgot all about our anniversary in September.  Shame on both of us.  We've only been married 3 years and I don't want to lose him.  I am very concerned about his health and I hope and pray he sticks with this diet.

I go next week to see the surgeon; I want this hernia taken care of.  It looks ridiculous, is keeping me out of a size 12 and is also starting to hurt when I laugh, sneeze and cough.

Well that's not all that's going on but that's all I have time for.  I have really missed you guys and I hope you are all doing well.

Great to hear from you lady! I have to keep this short as I am low on time and preparing to leave in the morning to go see Kathy!
I will keep both you and your hubby in my thoughts and prayers! I do wish he could have the RNY, it could help reduce or eliminate the diabetes and make him so much healthier!

Just say to to carbs girl! Convince yourself you will dump, and keep that thought. If nothing else, think about if you want to re-inhabit your size 16, or 18 or???? if you get too into the wrong foods, it can and will happen eventually. Ya know I love you, so just want to be honest here. Stop it now before you get addicted to the stuff again my friend!

Hugs and love to you!

Colleen, I am so glad to see your post.  Patrece is here for a visit.  We have been busy, active and having a blast, the time is speeding by way to quickly.

I know what you mean about worry about a spouse. Dennis is near 300# himself, he has no other health issues, other than weight related knee aches.  I want him to eat healthy, preparing healthy foods, but he is a carb addict.  He has his own cupboard, the one with the hamburgery helper, pasta, and treats.  I do not look in this cupboard.  When he wants his stash refilled, we go to the store together, he picks out the items he wants and puts them away when we get home.  I will continue to prepare healthy meals, encouraging him to try various veggies.  We walk together some days, football, TV in general and computer games often win when I want him to join me for exercise.  That means that the dogs and I go for walks, trying to lead by example.

I am grateful that Dennis will go to the wls support group meetings with me when he can.  Having spouses there helps other couples too.

I hope that your hubby's leg wound heals uneventfully.  Happy belated anniversary.  Let us know what you find out about your hernia.  Support it when you laugh, to minimize the discomfort.  Hugs Colleen, Kathy
