HELP!!! I'm 10 months post op and still having trouble with protein
hi my name is chris and i'm 10 months post op from my sleeve surgery. i've always had trouble getting in enough protein since my surgery. i've become lactose intolerant so no more milk for me...boo... no cheese, yougurt...noting it all makes me sick. i can eat meat and chicken and tuna just not very much at a time. i mostly eat lean cuisines...i can eat half of 1 at a time. i did get some pure protein bars with 20g of protein but it takes me at least a half day to eat it and i just started drinking the boost shakes for diabetics not that i ever had that problem but they only have 4g of sugar and 16g of protein. here lately my weight loss has slowed alot and sometimes i will lose or gain 3-4 pounds a week...it's getting VERY frustrating. i am grateful and feel blessed that since my surgery i've lost 103 pounds(starting weight 240 now 137)....but i would like to just get more ideas or recipies.....advice...anything....thaks for listening....have a blessed day
Hi Chris! Welcome to our group.
Once your weight gets so low, it takes a lot longer to lose any and the bouncing around is very common. How much more are you hoping to take off? Seems you are at a great weight, but I don't know your goal or height or specifics.
Have you tried lactaid to assist with the lactose intolorance? I'd be lost without my yogurt and cottage cheese!
I use a vanilla protein powder and mix it with orange crystal light and add some ice. It tastes alot like an orange creamsicle, and counts as protein and liquid! I enjoy it alot, and sip at it over the course of an hour or 2. This can help alot to get in the extra protein.
Best of luck to you! You are doing awesome!!!!!!!
