Somewhere in the Middle
Well, that about sums it up. I've lost 45 pounds, which puts me somewhere in the middle of my weight loss. I started out at 272, and Saturday (weigh in day) I weighed 227. I went from a size 24 to a size 18. Yeah me. Then how come, sometimes, it doesn't feel like such an accomplishment?
I watch what I eat, and I go to the gym almost every day. The weight came off really easily and quickly at first. Now it seems to have slowed to only 1 pound a week. Normal, yes - encouraging, not really. The other day I even seemed to gain a pound.
I had my fill in August and my adjustment in September. I am due for another adjustment in October, the 25th and I can't wait. I know it is only a tool, but I'm also worried. It seems like the mornings are fine, but the afternoons I just get so hungry.
I am going to make an appointment with my trainer, Brandi, next week, and get my body measured. I'm sure that will brighten my spirits. I'm sure I have lost inches since my last measuring 6 weeks ago.
For now, I'll look at how far I have come, and try not to get too discouraged to be stuck in the middle.

You are dong great! Be patient with yourself and your tool. Weight loss always slows the closer we get to a normal BMI. It takes less calorie expenditure to do the things we do, the less we weigh. And remember, with lap band, you do not have the malabsorptive component, so you will lose slower than those who had a malabsorptive procedure. BUT take heart..you wll also lose longer with the aid of your tool.
Maybe in the afternoon when you begin to feel hungry more, you need to be getting in more dense protein to halp keep you filled up a little longer. But do talk to your surgeon when you go for your fill about this, maybe they will have ideas for you.
As far as going up a pound, water weight in itsself can account for that easily. Be sure you are getting in plenty of fluids so your body doesn't feel the need to hold onto to any extra in the form of water weight. You may also need to shake up your routine a bit. Our bodies adjust to things and we have to change things to get it going on letting go of the fat again.
You are doing great! Don't lose heart! You will get to where it is you want to go. I had RNY, and still it took me 2 years and 2 moonths to hit my goal (those last 15 to 20 lbs were stubbornnnnn)... BUT I did it. You will too!
