I need so insight!
1.What type of surgery did you have?
2. How did you like the results?
3. How long did it take you to get to your target weight?
4. Did any of you NOT have serious comordities and just a HIGH BMI?
Thank you For all your help!
2. I LOVE my results!
3. I hit my doctors goal for me in about a year and a half. Then the other day I hit MY goal weight at 2 years and 2 months out. (I had been fighting ONE pound for 2 months!)
4. I had High BP and a high BMI.

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
2. I love it
3. Haven't hit my dr goal weight but I am really happy where I am. 1 yr out and down 145 + pounds feel so alive. Still losing weight even though slowly.
4. My PCP laughed when he did some tests on me and said that I was the healthiest morbidly obese patient he has seen.
I can run around with my kids play soccer and love myself again. I will live a longer life with my husband and keep my end of the deal to live until we are so old we will have to rock on our chairs and see our great great grandkids lol. i would never regret this choice I have made, it was the best decision I have ever made. Good luck to you in whatever choice you make.
So far I love my results.
I haven't reached my target weight yet, but I'm down 45 pounds and 3 dress sizes.
My BMI was 41, and I had slight sleep apnea which is not gone.
I feel so much better.
I have so much more energy.
I even started jogging! Me, jogging - I would have never thought.
I would suggest WLS to anyone who cannot get the weight to come off on their own.
But remember, no matter what surgery you have - it is only a tool. It is not a miracle drug - you still do have to work at it.
Good luck and keep us posted.
I love my RNY, had is 12 months ago. At the time the only options available where I had my surgery were band and RNY. After discussing my co-morbidities with the surgeon, we decided RNY was best for me. I have sleep apnes, type 2 diabetes, arthritis, PCOS, family history of obesity, high cholesterol and heart problems. Since surgery, I have been off my insulin for a year now, still taking pills to control the blood glucose levels, and this is alright (more family history stuff with the diabetes). My cpap pressure is half of the level it was at before surgery. I am on less medications and enjoying being more active. I was using a cane part time due to poor knees before surgery and walking several miles a day with the dogs, even jogging short distances once in a while, heeeehawwwww.
I am still working the program and not at goal weight, but I am happy with where I am at for the moment. Nearly 100# gone and moving about enjoying life so much easier without the weight. I strive every day to do things that are good for me. Live is good after wls. I would do it over again in a heartbeat.
There are many options available for wls, do the research and chose what feels right for you. Hugs

1. I had Realize Band surgery almost 13 months ago
2. I love my band!
3. I am not at goal yet but have lost 81 lbs
4. I had high blood pressure---gone, I was pre-diabetic---gone and high cholesterol.
The band has worked well for me. I was a volume eater. I didn't binge on sweets or snack foods so the band works well for me. As mentioned before there are different surgeries that work for different people. You are smart to get all the facts and chose the surgery that will work best for you. Best of luck!
