slight dissapointment

I talked with the NP at the surgeons office to see if they had received all my pre-screening.  She had it all but not my labs.  I'm like. WTF.  Quest sent me the results last week in the mail.  With the MD, all they had to do is fax it.  Oh well.  Allise said she would call them.  So hopefully all the info will be sent to the insurance for pre-approval today or tomorrow.  Then it is a waiting game.  I asked her how long it normally took, she didn't give me a straight answer.  She did say that my surgery probably wouldn't be til Dec.  POUTS!  If that is the case, I may have to put it off til after New Year's because of work.

I am also looking into vitamins and such.  I think that I have found the ones that I will buy.  I am thinking the bariatic advance (or advantage).  It's gonna be a little pricey though.  3months supply of MVI, iron, calcium, and SL B12 = $120 plus tax and shipping.   I guess if I break that down into month supplies it is only $40 a month for them all.  That's $10 each/month.  So, I guess its not too bad.  I have heard someone tell me to just take chewable flinstones MVI.  I'm not to keen on that idea, because they are formulated for kids not adults.  Just seems that something would be missing.

sounds like your on the road.. Your almost there!  I would have offered to fax the lab test results to them if you had them and they didnt.  I acutally had to do that with the approval from the insurance. I had recieved my copy and hadn't heard anything from the clinic so I called them and asked if they had recieved the approval and they hadn't so she had me fax it up so we could keep the ball rolling. FYI: I had blue cross blue shield and it took about a month to get a response.

Good luck on your approval. I know the waiting game sux but it is worth it in the end.  On vitamins for my multi I use Centrum chewables and have had great labs, I also get super B complex, sublingual b-12 and I take Potassium and calcium all I have gotten from Walmart.  Alot less than 40 a month, we were on a very tight budget when I had my surgery so that is all I could afford and my Dr is loving my labs. Just remember not to take your calcium ant the same time as iron, so If you get a multi like I did take your calcium 2 hrs after your multi.  Again good luck

It was nice chatting with you this eve Fran ;-)
Sounds like you'll be approved soon!  Hopefully you won't have to wait till after the first of the year.  But, Things always work out the way they are suppose to.
Remember your D3 too.  Most people are unsufficient in D3 these days.  Labs will tell ya.  You can post your lab results here too and let the gurus look at them for you ;-)
Take care and as always, You are in my prayers!

It sounds like you are on your way.
Just what ever vitamins, calcium and iron that you start taking - make sure you check with your doc first.
Nothing is more important than your health, that's why you are going through this.
Prayers are with you.

Comes to find out, they (the surgeons office) had my labs at the front desk instead of on the CNP's desk.  Can we say DUH!  Anyways, I am sure glad that I called.  She said that everything looked good, except my Vitamin D.  So I will need to start taking a supplement.  Thursday I will pick some up.  She also said that I should be getting a call from the girl who makes the schedule soon with a date.  CNP did say that it wuold most likely be around the holidays

Fran, no additional insights, everyone had my ideas, lol.  Letting you know that I am thinking of you and planning to hear soon that you have a scheduled date for surgery.  I take the centrum chewables, they taste palatable.  Keep up the positive thoughts, you will be over here on the losing side of surgery very soon.  Hugs
