HI! Just wanted to check in and read some of the posts. Sorry to hear about your Grandson's problems, Patrece. I will definitely keep him in my prayers!
Well, I've done pretty well so far. Have lost 20 lbs. No pain meds for 5 days. My incision is healing nicely. My husband was a great Nurse! He stayed home from work for 2 weeks to look after me and just recently went back to work. I am walking and even went to the beach for a couple of hours yesterday. Walking in that sand wore me out , but I'm glad I did it.
I'm staying home from work 6 weeks. Even tho' I feel like I'm doing well, I'm a long way from being on my feet for hours at a time yet.
Going to the Dr. again on the 14th. Wonder if he'll start me on supplements then. My surgery and recovery seem to be textbook. Not too exciting for anyone but me! Ha!
Thanks for being there ya'll!

Grace and peace be with you all.

You are taking your vitamin supplements now right? I believe you should be. I am asking this assuming you are wondering if he'll start you on protein supplements.

Welcome to the losing side of surgery Janelle.  You are doing an amazing job at the losing.  Great to go walking in the sand, wonderful exercise.  Give yourself the needed time to heal.  Taking 6 weeks of is good, you will have more energy and endurance when you return to work.

Follow the plan set out by your surgical team with the supplements.  It is nice to have an uneventful recovery.  Hang in there and happy losing.  Hugs
