Happy Labor Day Weekend to you all!

What do you all have planned for this weekend? I have absolutely nothing planned except some yard work, and that is good by me. There is always the chance things will change, and kids and grankids will call to see whats going on and thats ok too.

Getting ready to leave on a trip a week from tomorrow, for more training, and added in a few extra days for some R&R time. Looking forward to this very much! I am going to Miami beach, and I love the ocean! Spending time waterfront is so self nurturing for me. So healing and peaceful. Wish I could afford a waterfront home! I'd probably be the worst beach bum you ever saw! LOL.

My husband and his parents are coming with me to Miami. I decided to invite his parents when he said he'd like to go. He is blind, so doesn't do well in unfamiliar surroundings, but he needs a get away too. I will be in training all day long for the first 3 days (mon tues wed). So asked his parents to go with us to assist him and so they could have a getaway too. To my suprise, they are very excited about going...KEWL!

Have to get myself some decent clothes for the training days, and get my husband some new fresh clothes for the trip. He never wants new clothes, but i insisted this time. Told him I want him looking like he has a home! hehehe

I hope you all have a most wonderful labor day weekend! Enjoy these last days of summer. Make good pouch friendly choices and get in lots of fun activity!

Hugs!

Your trip sounds fun!  Fortunately, after all the hurricane mess I hope.  I'm doing some Fall cleaning around the house and not much else I hope.  I'm looking forward to some R&R around the house.  Maybe a little Wii Fit.  :)

All the best,

From what i hear the hurricane missed this area, and i don't think there are any expected before or during my trip.  Whatever happens..I will make the most of it. If a hurricane doe****I'll be there helping others. If it doesn't, I'll be enjoying myself.. After Pauls accident, it takes quite a bit to get me too much in an uproar. I have learned life is easier when I accept the challenges put in front of me, instad of fighting against them, as this never helps, just makes it worse. If i accept the challenges, and learn from them and try to find the hidden opportunity for self improvement in them, I become a much better person.I am growing as a person all the time. lol.

Have a nice relaxing weekend, and enjoy the kids and th wii. I hope you feel better soon. (noticed in your other post you are not feeling well you said).
Hugs!

What a great positive outlook you have!!  Love it!  I'm surrounded by negativity a lot, so I really enjoy reading your positive expressions!  :)  I suppose we're all growing ... if we allow ourselves to see it that way.  ;)

Thanks very much.  I'm just tired, it's my "time" and feeling a little down -- it's a "big" birthday and I'm feeling old, fat and frumpy.  Two of my sons are away and I miss them.  Hubby and I aren't where I want us to be and that's frustrating.  So, I'm just taking some time for introspection, rest and staying home where I feel the most comfortable.  Even though I'm taking my supplements, I just don't have a lot of energy right now in light of my intake restriction I think.
All the best,

~ Kim ~

Ohhh Kim.. I wasn't always so positive minded, and at times it can be a challenge, but usually I stay focused on the positive. It used to be my hubby was the optomist and I the opposite. But life happened. We faced 4 very difficult times in life very close together, then when my hubby had his accident (the 4th of the lot of hard and traumatic times) I decided he would NOT have any negativity surrounding him. It took 3 weeks before they could tell me they thought he'd survive. Then and there when he was in surgery following the accident I kicked myself in the behind and decided I would take nothing but positive and good to his bedside. I have learned to for the most part adopt this as my mentality of choice and habit.. and it does make life easier. I too am surrounded by MUCH negativity.. and when I have to I break away for me time to keep from letting it drag me down.

You are likely losing weight as you are on this pre-op diet. Our fat cells store all kinds of stuff and as we empty them, the stored stuff releases too. There is an article I wrote on this posted in our group blog. It is quite a ways down on the list of articles and posts, but look for it. It will help clear confusion on mood swings and feelings you may experience as you lose weight. As a matterof fact I'll getthe direct link for you and post it here..

There ya go.. have a look. It will be helpful to you.
Again, Happy Birthday! Cheer up it may be a milestone birthday, but soon...your life will be better than ever, and the best is yet to come! This is coming from a Grammy... so believe me! lol.

Thanks for the pep talk and you're right -- I do think that the best lies ahead for me.  :)

Today is a better day, I have a little more energy and I'm going to go the movies with my hubby.  Never did get any cleaning done yesterday, so doing that when we get back.

Thanks for the article, will read it now!  :)
All the best,

Hey Patrece, working weekend for me, what else would you expect.  I am planning a shift of call at home this eve, 12 hours, from 7p-7a, heck, I am already "on call" and not expecting to be called in.  Headed to a nap in a bit, just in case I really do have to work.  Dennis is having a working weekend too.

I took the critters for a long hike this afternoon.  We went from complaining about the heat and humidity to long sleeves over just a couple of days.  Climbed 12 flights of stairs when we stopped by work to climb the stairs.  My legs felt like rubber after 10 flights, did the extra 2 just on sheer willpower.  Got in a total ot 12,500 steps today on the pedometer, wooohoooooo

Get Paul some cool clothes, he deserves to look hot, smoking hot for the trip.  Speaking of smokin' get him to quit that too.  Hug those grandbabies for me.  My dad passes on his greetings, he is camping with his siblings this weekend.  Enjoy your weekend,  hugs

Ahhhh hope you end up getting to keep it a call shift with no call in. That always makes for a nice break.
Tell your Dad hey for us both, and pass along a hug! Pass both along to Dennis as well.
WOW 12 flights of stairs!! Thats one workout for sure! And those steps definately helped you get in lots of steps today! haha.. pardon the pun...

Thought about shopping for the travel clothing this weekend, but ughhh all the sotres are running big slaes to get lots of people in and I don't like lines too well. We shall see. Probably Tuesday we'll go. Was just asked to watch Cheyenne and Connor for the day tomorrow, so it will be a busy and tiring day for this ole grammy.

Keep up the great work on getting in the exercise!

Great job, Kathy!
